︎ NAMASTE Namaste, my name is Misha. To me yoga is a living art. It is breathing, thinking, feeling, exploring, connecting and evolving within our internal and external world. During my classes we explore poses, free movement, breath work, meditation, relaxation techniques and philosophical inquiry. My emphasis is not how a posture looks, but how it feels. Through this my intention is to encourage others to connect deeply with themselves, creating a safe space for self discovery. My focus is to share and intertwine different wellness practices, allowing my students to optimise both their physical and physiological health. WHAT DO I OFFER? * Bespoke yoga classes for individuals and small groups. * Naturopathic consultations and follow ups. WHY DO I TEACH YOGA? I first got my paws on a book of my mums at 17 years old. It discussed all the aspects of yoga, beyond the poses, a way of living, a state of being. Soon after I began with Hatha and Ashtanga classes. The scent of incense, soothing instrumental music and mantras became my escapism. Before long my practice became regular, empowering me to connect to my body and introducing me to the practice of meditation. Yoga became even more central to my life in 2020, when a speeding car mounted the pavement, meeting my body. I soon woke, introducing 14 broken bones; my skull, neck and spine fragmented, my liver torn, my brain bruised and bleeding, along with several weeks of my life missing. I have no memory and no understanding of what had happened. I waited patiently for the return of my yoga practice. I begin to focus on pranayama, each breath I take, my broken ribs expand and carry on to meet my spinal brace, my painful clavicle continues meeting my neck collar. Each breath highlighting extensive pain. How can I focus my mind with these physical barriers? I lay in supta badakonasana for hours, allowing my heart and hips to be open. I endlessly lent my legs up the wall. I did my utmost to release and let my nervous system soothe. Even now, it is breath regulation that soothes my nervous system in order to manage PTSD every time I walk the streets. I spend intervals between teaching classes lying in shavasana, allowing my injured brain rest. I regularly move through asanas in order for my body to regain its mobility and strength. It is these practices that get me through each day. I have an insight to share, something that matters. Misha’s group classes are amazing. She has a responsive and relaxed style and manages to take people of all different levels of experience in yoga through a flow in a way that works for all, with no one held back and no one left out and lost. She pays great attention to both mind and body, so you get the most out of every moment of the class and leave feeling very glad you went. There’s lots of guidance for getting the most out of what you are doing and teaching around yoga practice as fits the interest of the particular class. In one to one teaching, Misha will respond to whatever is needed the moment you arrive, and take you through a tailored session but without any pressure. She’ll lead you through a yoga sequence that brings all the body and mind benefits of yoga while helping with any specific physical issues you have. Her understanding of anatomy, physical training and rehabilitation in general really enhance her teaching and guidance. - Joceline (Yogaloom) Misha is a great teacher. She ensures that all yogis feel comfortable throughout the class and tailors flows to the group and individuals. She is very attentive and brings both physical and mental support during class. -Alex (Fitnastic) CERTIFICATIONS: * 300 hour Vinyasa Yoga (2018) * 200 hour Hatha Yoga (2017) * 65 hour Pregnancy Yoga (2018) * 50 hour Yin Yoga (2019) * 8 hour Emotional Embodiment (2024) * 6 hour Trauma, The Brain & Recovery (2024) * Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist (2021) * Level 3 Personal Trainer (2012) Misha is very inclusive in her teaching and her language, she introduces herself, her style of teaching, gives plenty of adjustments and options, checks before touching you for adjustments and has a sense of humour. It makes the class safe, non performative and inclusive. -Swati (Bind) I’ve been practicing yoga with Misha for several years now, often with my daughters, sometimes alone, often at home, occasionally in a studio. Across the whole experience Misha is a gentle teacher who tailors classes to our changing weekly needs and moods, who guides us without judgment and provides a sanctuary of calm in our busy lives. I can’t recommend Misha highly enough. -Phil (Private student) I just had a session with Misha and I loved it! She has such a nice, uplifting positive energy. And she explained all the poses perfectly! I didn’t feel like we were rushing through the practice at any point but rather understanding how to do them better. - Lourdes (Flo Yoga) Questions, thoughts, feelings....... contactyogawithmisha@gmail.com ︎
