Several announcements came from the Colorado tech scene last week, including new
investments, new leadership and assistance for Ukrainians. Keep reading to see
what these companies are up to. This is the Built In Colorado weekly refresh.

Divirod got nearly $2M. TDK Ventures invested nearly $2 million in Divirod, a
Boulder-based company that assess and prepares for water-related catastrophes by
using a global sensor network. This network and data is used to measure water
levels at reservoirs, marinas, harbors and ports. Divirod used the funds to
double its headcount to 12 employees. [Built In Colorado]

Hotel Engine donated to UN’s World Food Programme. Denver-based business travel
company Hotel Engine announced it will donate $35,200 to the UN’s World Food
Programme in response to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The
company also announced it would offer assistance to any workers who have friends
or family fleeing Ukraine. [LinkedIn]

COLORADO TECH QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“More and more of our community — including historically underrepresented
groups, such as women, BIPOC, younger investors, people of all trades and
backgrounds — are seeking financial education and alternative investing
opportunities previously reserved for a select few. It’s pretty amazing how far
the retail investing space has come in the last few years with investing arenas
in real estate, art, farmland and other forms of private equity exploding into
the market.” — Sweater co-founders Jesse Randall, Chad Lewkowski and Matthew
Klein

Sweater raised $12M. Boulder-based fintech company Sweater wants to pool money
into a large venture capital fund for average retail investors. The company
raised $12 million in seed funding that will be used to grow its marketing
and engineering teams, among others. Sweater is also preparing for its public
launch and currently has a list of more than 50,000 people waiting to download
the app. [Built In Colorado]

Fluid Truck gained a new CFO. Fluid Truck is a truck-sharing platform with 24/7
access to vehicles such as vans and trucks. The company announced it has
appointed Scott Bruckner as its first chief financial officer. Bruckner brings
over two decades of global experience to Fluid Truck. Fluid Truck expects to
expand into 41 more cities this year. [Fluid Truck]
