Too often this is the exact opposite of what happens. You're just another member. You're working aimlessly, feel lost, and unsure of what to do to get to feeling better. We think it should be different, and at STRONG, it is. Here, you work together with a coach who understands who you are, where you're coming from, where you want to go, and how to get there. If you want to see for yourself how different it is, we want to meet you. Not eating enough food (bonus points if it's the right food) can actually make you GAIN weight? But Calum, if I eat less than I expend, I have to lose weight. Calories in vs calories out, it's just math, it's simple. Well friend, it sure is. And it also sure isn't. Here's why; Calories is might be consistent, but what if calories out changes all the time, for a variety of reasons. And what if one of those reasons is that restricting calories in for too long actually decreases the amount of "calories out"? What then? Well I'll just eat less. Problem solved. Ok, til when? Til you die? You can only cut back on spending so much. By constantly being caught in a cycle of trying to lose weight, focussing on eating less, and stressing about gaining even a little bit of weight you're actively making it MORE difficult to lose body fat and feel good. So what's the answer? Eat to build a little bit of muscle. More muscle looks good. It helps you move well. It makes you feel strong and confident. AND it increases your metabolism, so if at some point you decide you want to lose a bit of body fat for a few months, you actually can. Focus on eating to build a little bit of muscle (that means eating approximately the same amount of calories per day as you expend a.k.a. maintenance) with lots of protein, and a magical thing will happen. You'll feel better, you'll get stronger, and you'll look better, as your weight may not change much, but your "shape" will. It's not rocket science but it's not easy. There's a lot of emotion (and shame, oh my goodness the shame) around food, and eating, and body sizes and it sucks, and I'd like to help if you'll let me. I'd love to meet you, you're always welcome here at @stronggymtoronto and I hope you get to feel good in your skin! Love as always, Coach Calum #torontopersonaltrainer #torontogym 67 13 @ stronggymtoronto A few reasons we know resistance training is so important to your overall health. Not only does our body composition reap the rewards of training, but the overall system as a whole becomes more efficient in doing its daily duties. Helping you look and more importantly FEEL better💪 A few we looked at today ⬇️⬇️ Increases Muscle Mass: It promotes muscle growth, and muscle tissue burns more calories at rest compared to fat tissue. This increases your overall resting metabolic rate, helping you burn more calories throughout the day. Elevated Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption: After a resistance workout, your body continues to burn calories at a higher rate during the recovery period, a phenomenon known as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). Improved Insulin Sensitivity: Resistance training enhances your body’s ability to use insulin more effectively, which can help in managing blood sugar levels and reducing fat storage. 31 1 About Us * Our Team * Contact Us * Work at STRONG.
