President William Ruto yielded to increasing public pressure on Wednesday by
announcing that he would not approve the controversial Finance Bill 2024. This
decision follows a series of protests nationwide, predominantly driven by Kenyan
youth who argue that the proposed tax measures would further strain an already
burdened population. Addressing the public at the State House alongside
supportive members of parliament, President Ruto acknowledged the widespread
rejection of the Bill by Kenyans and declared his decision not to enact it into
law. "After careful consideration and taking into account the feedback from the
people of Kenya who have unequivocally opposed this Bill, I have decided not to
sign it," stated President Ruto. Consequently, he confirmed that the Finance
Bill 2024 would be withdrawn, aligning with the sentiments of the citizens, and
reached an agreement with fellow members of parliament on this course of action.

Kylian Mbappe will not need surgery but will wear a mask when he returns to
action after suffering a broken nose during France's 1-0 Euro 2024 victory over
Austria on Monday, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced.  Mbappe's
injury occurred late in the Group D opener in Duesseldorf when his head
violently collided with the shoulder of Austrian defender Kevin Danso during an
aerial challenge. The star striker left the pitch in the 90th minute, with blood
pouring from his nose, and a source later confirmed it was broken. Philippe
Diallo, president of the FFF, reassured reporters that Mbappe would "not require
an operation." A statement from the FFF detailed that Mbappe underwent tests at
a hospital in Duesseldorf before rejoining

Fresh details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Tom Adala, a senior
National Intelligence Service (NIS) officer, revealing that he was battling
depression. Tom Adala, 54, an Assistant Director at the NIS, shot himself in the
head, and his body was discovered at his home on Kirichwa Road in Kilimani on
Tuesday morning. Adala's nephew found the body in the servant's quarters and
immediately reported it to the Kilimani police station. According to police, the
nephew recounted that he last saw Adala on Monday at 10 pm. When Adala had not
shown up for breakfast by 9 am on Tuesday, the household became concerned. After
efforts to locate Adala proved futile, his nephew found his body lying in a pool
