If it make his neutral less good, it make his punish game really good and one hit from Mew2King often result in death. This punish game is even more present when he play Marth, his best character out of the three he play, where he use the weak hitbox of his attack to extend combo and his juggling with up airs and up tilts. He is also known for being really good against Fox and Falco, tied to his punish game : he juggle with them, combo them to death and even chain grab if he have good timing and can read the enemy. It's even more visible on the stage Final Destination, known as the best stage for Mew2King and the worst stage to play against him if you are a spacies main. Marth isn't his only character, he play three others : Sheik and Fox. He often switch between them to counter character or when he simply want to play one. He can play other character but more occasionnaly, like peach or even jigglypuff. COMPETITIVE HISTORY[] A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH BEFORE HIS COMPETITIVE CAREER[] Even before he play competitively the game, Mew2King will spend his days trying to dissect Super Smash Bros Melee. With no camera, no photos and no software, he will discover the frame data of Melee, entirely on improvised mean. Often called the Melee Bible, his infodump contain every technical information on the game, such as the frama data of every character, their running speed, their falling speeds, the rolling time and distance in each direction ... Mew2King dissected every move in the game and every aspect of it. Later, on his competitive career, he will use this technical knowledge to try having a competitive edge on the other. At the time he's dissecting the game, he is playing alone with it, forced to play against bots. This had an impact on the beginning of his career. 2005 - 2006, A DIFFICULT BEGINNING[] His Melee career began around 2005 when he entered his first tournaments. His first result wasn't really good, as he kept failing against the other players, for one reason : mix-up and adaptation. The others players were used to play against each other and so developped mindgame and playstyles, but not Mew2King : at the beginning of his career, he wasn't adapting and played robotically, like the bots he fought for so long. This playstyle will inspire the nickname "The Robot". But Mew2King will learn how to play against human, notably with all the tournaments he enter. He is becoming more and more of a threat. At his first national tournament, the Gettin' Schooled 2, with the presence of legends of the time such as Isai, PC Chris, Chillin, Azen, Wes, ChuDat and more importantly, the King of Smash, Ken, Mew2King will place himself at the 23rd place, a good placement for a first major tournament. Advertisement 2006, HIS PARTICIPATION IN THE MLG MELEE CIRCUIT[] In 2006, MLG open a Melee Circuit, the Opener being in New York. Mew2King will participe in it, placing 7th at the Opener but he will get good result, placing third at MLG Chicago, defeated by Ken. With his result, he get to be in the seeds for the final of MLG National Championship, where he will be placed 4rd, defeated again by Ken. The MLG Melee Circuit revealed the potential of Mew2King and place him as a respected competitor of the game. 2007 AND 2008, THE RISE OF THE FIRST GOD[] In March 3 of 2007, Mew2King participe in Cataclysm 3, his first tournament of the year. In it, there are player like PC Chris, ChuDat and KoreanDJ. For the first time in his career, he will win a major tournament, beating all those players. After this tournament, he will go on a streak, getting 9 first place and 2 second place for a total of 14 tournament for the year. His only bad place is in EVO 2007, stopped by the jigglypuff of a future God but at the time unknow : Mango. In 2008, he again will get 9 first place on 10 tournament, with 1 second place at Pound 3 where he was beaten by Azen. Mew2King at the time was recognize as a monster and already developped his heavy-punish playstyle, with very long combo leading often to death. With the streaks of victory and his determination, Mew2King was viewed as a God in the game, better than Everyone : the first God of Melee, thus beginning the Era of the Five Gods THE REVIVAL OF MELEE[] The Revival of Melee was a tournament held in 2009 as a attempt to reunite the Melee Esport scene one last time. In 2008, Brawl has come out and the Melee scene was slowly dying, with less tournament held. So when the call for Revival of Melee was launched, everone answered and with it, Mew2King. In 2008 and 2009, Mew2King was playing both Melee and Brawl and in 2008, he was recognized as the best player in both these games. When Revival of Melee happened, Mew2King was prioritizing Brawl, with the objective of living off Smash Bros and developped himself as a competitor and a public figure. The tournament begin March 7 to March 8 and with it and players such as KoreanDJ, PC Chris, DaShizWiz, ChuDat, Azen, Kage and the first major tournament of HungryBox are in it. Mew2king make his way into the bracket until he get to DaShizWiz in losers final. The set will become legendary in the history of Melee, with the fourth game being the main attraction. Mew2King was leading 2-1 when fourth game happened. DaShizWiz dominate the game, leading 3 stocks to 1 but then, Mew2King make a comeback and win the game, thus winning losers final with DaShizWiz out of the bracket. This game has 900 000 views on Youtube, one of the most viewed game of Melee [[4]] Mew2King won't win the tournament, defeated by Mango, but this isn't the important matter : this game showed to the Melee Scene that the game can't die because of moment like this. Thus, the scene was saved with one game between a Falco and a Marth. Mew2King cemented his legend. 2009 isn't the best year for Mew2King, as he is not dominating entirely the game like he did in 2007 and 2008, mainly linked to the rise of players like Mango, Hungrybox or Armada, 4 new Gods of Melee. Advertisement 2010 TO 2012, A WEAKENED MEW2KING[] 2010 begin with Pound 4, a tournament that will enter in the history of Smash Bros as the first tournament where with all the Five Gods in attendance : Mew2King, Mango, HungryBox, Armada and PPMD, known at the time as Dr. PeePee. Mew2King will place 5th, behind Mango, Hungrybox and Armada. At the time, Mew2King is focused more on Brawl than on Melee and that focus appear in his results for Melee : on 30 tournaments, he win 16 time and if in those years he doesnt go lower than 5, it's not an full domination of the game and he struggle a lot against the others Gods and on Major Tournaments, placing 3rd for Apex 2010 behind Hungrybox and Armada, 2rd at Revival of Melee 3 behind PPMD, 5th at Pound 5 forfeiting against PPMD, 2rd at Zenith 2011 behind HungryBox, 4rd at GENESIS 2 behind Hungrybox, Mango and Armada, 3rd at Revival of Melee 4 behind Mango and PPMD, 17th at Apex 2012, his worst record for this period, 2rd at Zenith 2012 behind PPMD. If Mew2King is still in the top 5 along with the others Gods, he is viewed as the weakest. But everything will change in 2013 2013 AND 2014, THE RETURN OF THE KINGS[] In 2013, Mew2King will focus more on Melee, notably due to EVO 2013, the first EVO where Melee is in since EVO 2007. If Mew2King place 5rd, he see however the impact EVO did on the Melee Community, with more and more people interest in Melee and the scene growing. This growing is reinforced with a documentary filmed by Samox, known as The Smash Brothers, showing the beginning of the scene with all the olds legends. And to add on that, Sm4sh was announced before EVO 2013, the release date being the death date for the Brawl Scene. Big House 3 will be the first tournament for the Return of the King, being the first major tournament he win since 2008, beating Hungrybox and PPMD, players that he struggled against before. After the Big House 3, Mew2King go on a impressive streak of victories, with 16 first place in a row, beating all the Gods he encounter such as Hungrybox or Mango, with the only stop of his victory streak being APEX 2014, where PPMD beat Mew2King. For all 2013, Mew2King will dominate like he did on 2007 and 2008, thus cementing even more his position as a God of Melee. In 2014, his winning streak stop but he is still a big competitor for the scene, his domination mainly stop with Mango taking the game seriously once more and a PPMD in his prime. It's due to the fact that Mew2King once again share his attention between two games, this time being Melee and Sm4sh. However, he is still a big threat, with him getting a 4 stock against Mango in Fight Pitt IV. 2015, 2016 AND 2017, MEW2KING IN THE END OF THE ERA OF THE FIVE GODS[] In 2015 and 2016, Mew2King once again is weakened and struggle again the others Gods, notably an Armada that begin his prime and the God Slayer Leffen. The first major tournament is Apex 2015, the biggest tournament for the time. At the time, Mew2King was the only god to have not been defeated by Leffen, notably due to Mew2King really good gamestyle against Fox, with 7th set played between those two all won by Mew2King. This all change in Apex 2015 where Leffen win for the first time against Mew2King. However, Mew2King still stay a God, and he make good placement at major tournament, only stopped by another god such as Armada, Mango and Hungrybox, such as in the first Smash Summit where he finish 3rd behind Mango and Armada. He is still capable of winning against Leffen, like in Pax Prime 2015. In 2016, Mew2King start focusing in Melee more, as his results are getting better, but he is again stopped by players such as Armada, that was in his prime at the time, even tho he win major tournament such as Shine 2016. It repeat again in 2017, with Armada, Hungrybox and Leffen in their prime but still capable of winning major like Canada Cup 2017 where he won over all the other gods in attendance. SMASH SUMMIT 6[] If in 2018, Mew2King begin to participate less and less in the Melee Scene, he can however shine when he want, like in the Smash Summit 6. Players such as the others active gods, HungryBox, Armada and Mango, the God Slayer Leffen, Plup, Zain are present in this. Mew2King doesnt start as a favorite but this change when he beat Armada in the Quarters Finals and Leffen in the Semifinals of winner bracket. Later on, he beat Zain in the Semi Finals and encounter again Armada in the Grand Final and beat him 3-1. His reaction to his victory became legendary, as is appear confused, he can't believe that he won a tournament that size and that importance. The Smash Summit 6 showed that Mew2King is still a God after all those years, and one of the best player in the history of Melee. His another shining moment will be in the Super Smash Con 2018, where he get to Grand Finals against Armada, losing 3-2 in both set. Even if he lost, he did make resistance to Armada which it was the last tournament he participated in.
