The Ellison-Jones Convocation honors the lives and legacies of two profound
scholars, faithful pastors, transformative educators and prophetic pulpiteers
who call us to pursue excellence in the preparation for and the practice of
ministry.



For the past 75 years, the Ellison-Jones Convocation has provided an opportunity
for alumni, students, and church leaders to gather at Virginia Union University
for formal and informal reflection around a theme dealing with social,
theological and/or ethical issues effecting the church and the academy.

DEAN

Grace and peace to each of you, my dear friends from the administration,
faculty, and staff. I am so excited that we are preparing to celebrate the 75th
annual Ellison-Jones Convocation this year. 



Since we last gathered, our staff has spent countless hours praying and
preparing for this milestone event. We are glad that you are making the
investment into yourselves to come to the sacred ground that is Virginia Union
University.
