PRAY FOR AMAZÔNIA

THE AMAZON IS BIODIVERSITY

The world's largest rainforest, considered the lung of the world, is a true
treasure in biodiversity.

One in ten known species lives in the Amazon. It is the greatest diversity of
plants on the planet,

it is estimated that there may be more than a thousand species different in each
Amazon square kilometer.

This impressive number could reach 60,000 plant species, which would amount to
25% of the number of plants in the world.

The region also hosts thousands of species of insects, mammals, birds,
amphibians, reptiles and fish.

There are 7 million square kilometers, bigger than all of India, bigger than the
sum of all of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal together, they're only
rainforest.

 * 20% OF ALL THE FRESH WATER ON THE PLANET IS IN THE AMAZON

There are more than 2000 affluents that form the entire Amazon basin. In the
rivers there are about three thousand fish species. The main fish in the
region are peacock bass, arapaima, piranhas, jaús and tam.

Not to mention the Flying Rivers, which are huge masses of water vapor that,
carried by air currents, travel across the sky and account for much of the
rain that rolls in various parts of the world that come out of the Amazon
   Forest.

 * APPROXIMATELY 300 SPECIES OF MAMMALS LIVE ON LAND

Among them jaguars, tapirs, maned wolves, deer, capybaras, otters and
   armadillos.

There are more than 417 reptiles catalogued, including alligators, turtles,
   snakes.

More than 1800 species of fish, peacock bass, piranhas, surubins, jaus,
tambaquis can be found in the rivers, as well as several species of mammals,
such as pink dolphin, manatee, ariranhas and giant otters.

 * THE AMAZON IS MAINLY KNOWN FOR ITS FOREST, WHICH STANDS OUT FOR THE EXTENSION
   IT OCCUPIES

Its strength and diversity of vegetation and the beauty of

flowers and fruits. But it's also the shelter for all fauna, there are
thousands of species of birds, monkeys, insects that haven't even been
   cataloged yet.

The exact totality of species remains a mystery, what is known

they are estimates that increase every day.

   Botão

 * ACCORDING TO THE MMA, LARGE TREES TOTAL 3,500 SPECIES (1/3 OF ALL TROPICAL
   TIMBER IN THE WORLD)

There are more than 40,000 species of plants (out of 100,000 in South
   America).

What calls the most attention when you arrive in the forest is the

size of trees that can reach 90 meters high,

thus it is the largest tree registered in the biome, a Red Angelim (Dinizia
   excelsa)

   Botão

 * OTHER AMAZONIAN TREES ARE WELL KNOWN FOR THEIR FRUITS

Be the majestic chestnut tree, whose fruits, called hedgehogs, are

used for the production of handicrafts, and the prized chestnuts

all over the world. It's a multitude of trees of great importance

in the biome, including: açaí, rubber, andiroba, peach palm,

mahogany, cedar, cacao, cupuaçu, guarana and tucumã.

One might think that, due to the dimensions of the Amazon, there are not yet any
problems with animal extinction or forest destruction, however, this is not
quite the case.

With all the destruction that the forest has been experiencing, by fires, there
is a direct impact on the animals' habitat and on the availability of food for
them. 280 species threatened with extinction were counted.

Know More

Considering that many species have not even been identified, knowing and
conserving the biome are of fundamental importance for maintaining
biodiversity, for climatic stability and for the sustenance of the indigenous
people who live there from where they get food, medicine and perpetuate their
rich culture.

The great fires, the disorderly exploitation of its resources, mainly wood, the
expansion of agriculture and cattle raising and mining have increased the
deforested areas.

Know More

A survey by Prodes, released in November 2020, showed

that the estimated deforestation value was 9,762 km2 for the period from August
2019 to July 2020.

Does the value represent a 29.54% increase in relation to the deforestation rate
calculated in the previous 12 months, which was 7,536 km? The deforestation map
can be found on the Terra Brasilis website, one of the Amazon monitoring
projects run by the National Institute for Space Research (Inpe).

Know More

From 2015 to 2020, accumulated deforestation in the Amazon covers an area of
nearly 860 thousand km2.

The fires in the Amazon drew attention in August 2020, as they totaled almost
31,000 fires.

Uncontrolled fires in forested areas are a serious problem. The biome holds the
only large reserve of tropical forest in the world and if we do nothing in 30
years, the Amazon will no longer exist.

WE WILL MAKE THE DIFERENCE! TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE AMAZON, TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE
THE PLANET.!

We at REMAKE AMAZON, together with you, will preserve as much of the Amazon
Forest as possible, fighting large fires

and acquiring areas for permanent preservation, where no trees will be cut down,

keeping all the fauna and flora intact, thus creating large extensions of
forests that were permanently preserved.
