Our Aim is to offer you the most delicious, authentic Japanese food in Waimea.

Our Story begins when Kumi Hori, one of the owners, first visited Waimea in
2010.
She found it a beautiful town, one she immediately loved, but one without many
restaurants. Although a professional dentist with a business background, she
came to
Hawaii from a lifetime experience in food preparation and business management.

Everyone in her family has always loved to cook and eat, and they had special
skills in
the tastes of Tokyo. They were also Involved in various health-oriented
enterprises,
believing that business means serving others,not simply spreadsheets and profit
margins.

Kumi’s desire to begin the Big Island Tokyo Table is also related to being a
mother of
three boys and wanting to make restaurant dining fun for kids of all ages,
especially
those with picky teenage tastes.Tokyo Table is a unique creation of a loving
family,
finding success in business and a need to share authentic Japanese food of all
ages
in beautiful town of Waimea.

On one long drive from Waimea to Hilo, she took a break at Big Island Pearl Tea,
a well-known Taiwanese store. She not only found a menu featuring kid-favored
sweets
but a pleasant, restful place for the whole family. Not surprisingly, the
founder of
Big Island Pearl Tea, Pay Lee,joins Kumi as a Big Island Tokyo Table active
owner.

offer Waimea nutritious and delicious Tokyo-style Japanese food. We know you
