SOLID STATE DRIVE FOR MAC MINI 2011

Taking apart the new late 2014 Mac Mini to replace the hard drive. The HDD is
still a removable SATA drive. Replaced with solid state for faster performance.
It is a total pain to get to the HD in this year's model, however well worth the

David Hodson's answer is half-correct. It *is* just a standard HDD swap,
however: 1) A guide to installing Leopard or Snow Leopard won't help because the
2011 Mac Mini won't run any OS X older than Lion. You *could* use another
computer to install Lion on the SSD before fitting it, or wait for and buy the
USB-stick version of Lion. However 2) The good news is you should be able to
just fit the SSD blank. I believe the Mini's 'Internet Recovery' will allow you
to connect to Apple and download and install Lion directly.

All you need is your WiFi key or Ethernet cable:). Yes, any SSD will work. I'm
running an OCZ Vertex2 120 GB SSD. Just make sure you upgrade to the drive's
latest firmware version after installation. As for OS install, I put the old

GIT CLIENT FOR MAC OS X

I have been using Git a lot lately and have found a lot of things I like better
in Git than in Subversion. The one major item that was really bothering me was
that there wasn’t really too many Git clients that could help you visualize the
repository. I mean show merges, commits, branching, blame, etc. Seeing that CVS
and Subversion have been around for a lot longer, there are many clients for
them and now that I have been using Git for a while on the command line, I
decided to take a look again. What I am looking for is simple. I want 2 things:
• In the typical Mac style, I want a great looking interface. I want to be able
to see who did what, when, and why (assuming good commit messages from the
developers).

too flashy, but has a lot of potential. I give them the benefit of the doubt
since they are still in the early phases of production.

Smartgit also has a much cleaner file browser/interface than any of the other
UIs tested. Another clean item on the layout is tool tips. They are helpful
because there are quite a few buttons which are otherwise unlabelled.

There is a great button in the bottom right hand corner that maximizes the
currently selected file into an automatic diff of HEAD vs. Working tree. It is
worth noting that Smartgit, when released will not be free software. UPDATE:

HOW TO ROTATE TEXT BOX IN WORD FOR MAC

Written by Steve Patterson. Photoshop makes it easy to rotate, flip and scale
entire words or lines of text in a document, but what if we want to transform
only a single letter in a word, or transform different letters differently,
rotating some, flipping others horizontally or vertically, and scaling others?
It sounds like it should be a fairly straightforward job for Photoshop's Free
Transform command, yet if you've ever tried doing it, you know that it isn't as
straightforward as it would seem. Let's take a look at the problem. Here's a
document I have open on my screen - a simple design with the word 'letters' in
front of a gradient background.

Free Transform once again affects the entire word. I'll press Esc on my keyboard
to cancel the Flip Vertical command.

Let's try scaling a letter. I'll hold down Shift+Alt (Win) / Shift+Option (Mac)
as I click on one of Free Transform's corner handles and I'll drag inward
towards the center of the bounding box. Holding the Shift key down as I drag
will keep the original proportions of the text intact as I resize it, while the
Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) key tells Photoshop to scale the text from its center.
And no surprise, we run into the same problem as before. The entire word is
being scaled down as a whole.

Without a way to select a specific letter, the entire word is made smaller. It
may seem like Free Transform is the problem here since it doesn't give us any
way of selecting individual letters in the word, but the real problem is
actually the text itself. Or, more specifically, the problem is that the word is
text. That may sound strange. I mean, of course it's text, right? Yet it's a
problem because Photoshop doesn't allow us to select individual letters in a
line of text.

If you are using Word 2013 or 2016 (for Windows) or Word 2011 or 2016 (for Mac)
and wish to rotate the text inside of a text box, you can use the rotation
handle just above the text box when it is selected to rotate the entire text
box. (The text inside the text box will not rotate if you are using Word 2007 or
earlier (for Windows), or Word 2008 or lower (for Mac)).

To change to a color that is not in the theme colors, click More Shadow Colors,
and then either click the color that you want on the Standard tab, or mix your
own color on the Custom tab. • To add or change a 3-D effect, in the 3-D Effects
group, click 3-D Effects, and then choose the options that you want. How to

Color, and then click the color that you want. Custom colors and colors on the
Standard tab do not update if you later change the document theme.

At least, not while the text is still text, which brings us to the solution. All
we need to do to be able to work with individual letters is convert the text
into something else! So what can we convert it into and still have it look like
text? Well, we could convert it into by rasterizing it, but that's not the best
solution because we'll loose the sharp, crisp edges of the letters, especially
once we start rotating and scaling them. A much better solution is to convert
the text into a shape. As a shape, it will still look like text, and it will
keep its sharp edges no matter what we do to it. The only minor downside is that
once we've converted the text into a shape, it will no longer be editable, so
just make sure you have everything spelled correctly first.

To convert text into a shape, make sure the Type layer is selected in the Layers
panel, then go up to the Layer menu at the top of the screen, choose Type, then
choose Convert to Shape. Rotating the letter counterclockwise.

I'll do the same thing with the second letter 'e' in the word. First, I'll
select it by clicking on it with the Path Selection Tool, then I'll press Ctrl+T
(Win) / Command+T (Mac) to bring up the Free Transform box and handles around
it. To rotate it, I'll click outside the bounding box and drag with my mouse.
This time, I'll rotate the letter clockwise. When I'm done, I'll press Enter
(Win) / Return (Mac) on my keyboard to accept the change and exit out of Free
Transform. Rotating the second letter 'e', this time in a clockwise direction.

Some people have reported that the PDF action that I wrote about does not work
with El Capitan. I can verify that it does work perfectly with El Capitan.

If it’s not working after the upgrade to El Capitan you should try reinstalling
it and then restarting your computer. Continue reading for a link to download a
free version of ‘create booklet’. There are two versions running around. Create
Booklet 1.1 – free I can verify that ‘Create Booklet 1.1’, the original free
version by Christoph Vogelbusch definitely works with El Capitan. Last time I
checked it was available from.

the paid version by ‘TheKeptPromise’ available from the Apple App store and from

It costs $15. It may not work with El Capitan. Virtual client for mac. I have
not tried it.
