CERTIFIED DOULA & CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR
(CBD, CCCE)

Hey there!  I’m Emily, the doula & educator behind Serving Tomorrow.  And that’s
my little crew you see above.  I serve the Fort Worth metroplex, and attend
hospital births, birth centers, and home births.  As a doula, it is my utmost
value that YOU feel centered in your experience, with unwavering support.  This
comes through a process of preparation including education, choosing aligned
providers, and working to find what preferences fit YOU, not what Instagram or
your family says your birth “should” look like.  I have certified continuing
education in VBAC births, TENS unit rentals for labor, and advanced peanut ball
skills.  Whether you’re a first time mom or you have some rascals at home
already, a twin mom, VBAC, planned cesarean, want as low key & unmedicated at
home, or anything in between, I have the experience and excitement to support
you!

MY APPROACH

You will receive an individualized approach to doula support. Your wishes,
history, and circumstances are unique, so your birth preparation should be too.
You have access to me from the start of our contract, as well as a wealth of
resources given to you in your resource packet.  We’ll have in-home prenatal
visits to do prepwork, and I am just a text away for anything you need.  I
promise to always be truthful with you, hold your preferences & values in the
center, check my ego at the door, advocate for you if needed, and be your “birth
big sister” to walk with you through this experience.  At Serving Tomorrow,
there is zero tolerance for discrimination based on race, religion, disability,
sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender expression or marital status.  You will be
loved and supported, as you are.

   USE EMILY!!! I cannot say enough good things and I am extremely glad we went
   with her! Emily has a true passion for what she does and her confidence and
   energy helped ease my mind DRASTICALLY during both my pregnancy and labor. I
   am a first-time mom and educating myself on all of the birthing options was
   extremely important to me. Emily provided a class that touched on so many
   topics. Her class provided unbiased facts that really helped me make
   decisions regarding what I did and did not want for my own personal birthing
   experience. I loved the idea that hiring her as our doula meant that I would
   always have access to this level of information because pregnancy brain was
   really a thing for me. I also knew that I wanted someone with experience that
   could help coach my husband so that he could be more involved with the
   delivery of our son. Emily checked ALL of the boxes!! Ultimately I opted to
   birth at a birthing center and my goal was to go completely natural. When I
   finally went into labor at nearly 42 weeks, Emily met us at our home and
   helped with providing ideas that helped really keep me "in the zone". Each
   contraction was like a wave that would come and go and having her there to
   give my husband breaks really allowed me to have constant support without
   anyone becoming truly exhausted. When we decided it was time to go ahead and
   head to the birthing center, Emily was right there with us. She continued to
   provide reminders (like eating, drinking, and proper breathing) that resulted
   in such an amazing birthing experience for me. She also captured so many
   amazing pictures and videos during my labor that I would not have gotten them
   if it had not been for her. I will cherish those pictures and videos for the
   rest of my life. She was so prepared for EVERYTHING. I am a FIRM believer
   that having the right people on your birthing team can make all the
   difference in your birth experience. I would without a doubt do it all over
   again and would pick Emily to have on my team each and every time. Hiring
   Emily to be a part of my birthing team was one of the BEST decisions I could
   have made and I will forever be grateful for her!!

   also, don't know that I would've been able to find another birth class out

   what to expect as new parents. Ramiro wasn’t “grossed out or scared” of the
   delivery. We were very well informed which made us feel more confident and
   less afraid, especially during COVID-19 times. Our labor and delivery was a
   scheduled induction; but we were still able to follow the steps learned such
   as the different methods of monitoring, detailed information about the
   epidural, along with active labor techniques. In addition, I understood the
   different stages of labor and knew what to expect in each stage. I also felt
   very confident asking questions to medical staff and questioning their
   medical decisions when something wasn’t very clear. I also felt comfortable
   making requests in order to be more comfortable during contractions.”
