Back-to-school season brings an array of challenges, such as schedule changes, purchasing school supplies, and problem solving those “early out” days in conjunction with work schedules. Getting through the first few weeks of school is just the start to the school-stress season. Preparing for school holidays, teacher in-service days, and the winter holiday break and long spring break can be daunting for employees who are trying to find that perfect work/life balance. The links below provide valuable resources to help prepare parents and students for returning to school while reducing stress: * Back to School Toolkit * Back to School: Off to a Good Start * Handling Bullies September – Suicide Awareness Month September is designated as Suicide Awareness Month focusing on suicide prevention and helping those who are struggling with suicidal thoughts. Suicide is a complex mental-health issue, and many steps can be taken to prevent suicides from happening. Warning signs can include changes in mood or behavior, talking about suicide or death, or giving away possessions. If someone you know begins demonstrating these warning signs, it’s crucial to take them seriously and reach out for help. You can encourage the individual to seek professional help, and you can contact law enforcement to conduct a welfare check. You should educate yourself about suicide, the warning signs, and what steps you can take to support someone struggling with mental-health issues. Remember, suicide is preventable. By raising awareness and taking action, we can help save lives.
