The vessel in question is the ‘C-Star’ and was chartered by an organization called Defend Europe which aims to prevent migrants reaching Europe through the Mediterranean Sea route. Authorities have now detained the vessel in Port Suez, however, according to UK political action group HOPE not hate. According to the organization, which quoted a Suez Canal Authority employee, C-Star was arrested by the security authorities as it’s master could not provide satisfactory documentation and papers. > On the road to #defendeurope! pic.twitter.com/JvCanYtnS8 > > — Defend Europe (@DefendEuropeID) July 19, 2017 The detainment reportedly took place on July 20 and latest ship-tracking data shows the vessel still at anchor in Port Suez. The Defend Europe group, through its Facebook page, denied the reports saying that the “ship was controlled and as nothing was found, our mission to defend Europe goes on”. * View post tag: Mediterranean Sea * View post tag: migrant crisis Share this article * * * * Related news Italian shipbuilding giant partners with UAE’s defence firm to create €30B JV Posted: 6 months ago -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Royal Navy tests smallest ships as launchpad for minehunting ops Posted: about 1 month ago -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- World’s largest aircraft carrier wraps up Eastern Med mission Posted: 7 months ago -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Advertisement SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEWSLETTER Daily news and in-depth stories in your inbox Subscribe Follow us * * * Related news UK flagship HMS Queen Elizabeth sails to participate in ‘historic’ NATO mission Posted: 6 months ago -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NATO warships join UK’s HMS Prince of Wales for exercise Steadfast Defender Posted: 5 months ago -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Construction begins on Canada’s River-class destroyers Posted: about 1 month ago -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Related news LIST OF HIGHLIGHTED NEWS ARTICLES * JAPAN COAST GUARD ORDERS A PAIR OF SEAGUARDIANS FROM GA-ASI Categories: * Vessels Posted: 4 days ago * US NAVY CHRISTENS DESTROYER USS PATRICK GALLAGHER Categories: * Vessels Posted: 24 days ago * HMS PRINCE OF WALES REPLACES HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH IN ‘HISTORIC’ NATO DRILL Categories: * Training & Education Posted: 6 months ago * EUROPEAN COMMISSION SELECTS MMPC PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT PHASE Categories: * Research & Development Posted: 2 months ago * UK TO BUY SIX NEW MULTI-ROLE SUPPORT SHIPS TO REPLACE CURRENT AMPHIBIOUS FLEET Categories: * Vessels Posted: 3 months ago * US CREATES NAVAL COALITION TO PROTECT SHIPPING IN RED SEA Categories: * Operations Posted: 8 months ago * ROYAL NAVY’S PROJECT VAHANA COMPLETED Categories: * Vessels Posted: about 1 month ago * EXAIL CONDUCTS SEA TRIALS OF ITS NEW USV DRIX O-16 (VIDEO) Categories: * UUV/UAV Posted: 2 months ago SUBSCRIBE TO THE DAILY NEWSLETTER FOR THE LATEST NEWS AND IN-DEPTH STORIES E-mail address SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS * * * * * FOOTER LINKS * Home * News * Newsletter * Advertise * Report your news * About * Contact © 2024 Navingo Group 5
