UNCOVERING THE LEGACY OF FREEDOM MOVEMENTS AROUND THE WORLD

The first significant freedom movement that comes to mind is the American
Revolution. This movement, which spanned from 1765 to 1783, was a political
upheaval that saw thirteen American colonies break away from British rule and
establish the United States of America



The revolution was driven by a desire for self-governance, representation, and

Another inspiring freedom movement is the Civil Rights Movement in the United

African Americans in the mid-20th century. Led by iconic figures such as Martin
Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X, the movement drew on a rich legacy
of nonviolent activism and challenged the discriminatory practices enshrined in

figures such as Václav Havel and playwright-turned-activist, the Velvet

nonviolent resistance to achieve its goals. The revolution served as a powerful
