Feb 7
Barton Education department to host education apprenticeship fair

Barton Community College will host an informational fair about a new statewide
education apprenticeship program created by the Kansas Department of Education
(KSDE) from 6:30-8 p.m. on Feb. 15 in the Cavanaugh Room in the Barton Library,
and a virtual fair will be held Feb. 26.

Barton to host Adult Education classes downtown

Barton Community College’s Center for Adult Education will soon begin another
nine-week session of classes. However, orientation days are required before
starting the classes.

American Red Cross to give out $20 Amazon gift cards at Barton Community College
blood drive

Barton Community College will host a blood drive from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 23 in
the Kirkman Practice Gym. Donors will receive a $20 Amazon gift card from the
American Red Cross.

Nightline features Barton Community College and corrections education

This past October, an ABC crew from Nightline visited Ellsworth Correction
Facility (ECF) to speak with Barton Community College students to learn about
their educational journey and highlight the need for Pell Grants for residents.

celebration

Barton Community College and Ellsworth Correctional Facility (ECF) honored the
achievements of ECF residents at their annual learning celebration this past
October.

Dr. Marcus Garstecki named sixth president of Barton Community College

During a special Board meeting on Jan. 30, the Barton Community College Board of
Trustees announced Dr. Marcus Garstecki as Barton’s sixth president.
