CITY LAUNCHES $100M SMALL BUSINESS RESILIENCE GRANT

City Launches $100M Small Business Resilience Grant for Hard-Hit Sectors and low
to Moderate Income Communities. The NYC Small Business Resilience Grant Program
is funded by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) and
administered by Lendistry.

Applicant must use the $10,000 grant to mitigate economic hardships that
occurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic by using the grant funds to offset
operational expenses incurred between March 3, 2021, and December 23, 2024, for
the small business that is the basis for the Applicant’s eligibility for the
grant.
Examples of eligible expenses include the following: payroll and benefits,
mortgage, rent, utilities other operating costs.

was addressed during this informative webinar. Between COVID, Delta variants,
labor shortage, demand for goods, lack of truckers, lack of empty containers,
congested ports, increase cost of fuel all play into the freight issues in
today's market. Natural disasters weather related (floods & wildfires) have also
affected the freight market, further slowing down supply chains and reducing
capacity. William Balash of Unitedex-USA offered great tools and tips on how to
navigate their shipping issues during these turbulent times.

20TH ANNUAL BUSINESS EXPO "BUILDING BACK NEW YORK" THE PATH TO ECONOMIC RECOVERY

The Path to Economic Recovery - at the Edison Ballroom
A day to celebrate businesses and honor those who helped us "Build Back NY" and
lead NY into "Economic Recovery". The NYC Department of Veterans' Services,
James Hendon, Commissioner had the honor of performing the ribbon cutting. It
was followed by a networking coffee, break out informative sessions about "Covid
Protocols for Getting Back to Work", "Public Safety Job #1 - Safe Street for a
Better NY"; Getting Back to Business" and "The Importance of International
Partnerships".
The GNYCC called to stage to salute and honor "Essential Workers". Honorees:
Linda Bulone of NYC Health & Hospitals, The NYS Nurses Association, NYFD,
Terrence Monahan, Former NYPD Chief - honored 5 NYPD Officers, Nation Guard
honoree, Joy Chowdhury; NYFD honoree; Firefighter Manny Troche: Hispanic
Heritage Hero", Food Service Award was presented to John Phillips - The
Mansion/Best Quality Bone Broth. This expo was sponsored by NYRX, McKenzie and

NEW YORK CITY PAID SAFE AND SICK LEAVE OVERVIEW

September 17, 2021


The New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) partnered
with the Greater New York Chamber to share information on the New York City Paid
Safe and Sick Leave Law and New York State Emergency COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave
Law. Workers who have COVID-19 or were in contact with someone with COVID-19 can
get sick leave (time off) regardless of immigration status. State and local laws
let workers take time off to care for themselves or a family member. Employers
cannot mistreat or punish workers for using or asking for sick leave. For more
