Athlon Sports RECE DAVIS SAYS COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANS WILL ONLY ACCEPT ONE TEAM AS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS By Joe Vitale, 1 day ago While discussing the College Football Playoff on the Bret Boone Podcast this week, Rece Davis mentioned that no matter who wins it all, people won't be satisfied. If Alabama wins it all, people will say they should have never been there. If Michigan wins, they'll bring up the sign-stealing. So when asked if anybody will be pleased with the outcome of the College Football Playoff, Davis was quick to say no. “No, not at all,” Davis said when asked if anybody will be satisfied at the end of this season. “Even the Georgia fans are mad. Georgia is a great team and could beat anybody but they didn't. Ultimately, because of the circumstances of this year, didn't have much of a case...Georgia and Florida State are playing in a bowl game. Whoever wins that game, regardless of who wins the national championship, will be going ‘see we could have beaten them.’" There's truly no pleasing college football fans...Unless the Washington Huskies win it all? Davis said if Washington wins the whole thing, that might allow fans to breathe and accept the results of the season. "There will be people who say that, certainly if Alabama wins, they won't be satisfied. If Michigan wins everybody's going to talk about the sign-stealing stuff," Davis said. "Washington might be the only one people will accept. Texas, too, I think will get some of the ‘hey, they escaped. Florida State should have been instead of Texas or Alabama.’ So no, the answer is no, with a small caveat that maybe people will take a deep breath, except Georgia people, if Washington wins. And Georgia will say that they would have blown out Washington, so yeah, probably the easy answer is no, they will not be satisfied with whoever wins the trophy." Davis acknowledged that fans might be more accepting of the Texas Longhorns winning it all than maybe Michigan or Alabama, but at the end of the day, the committee still chose to put them in over Florida State as well. So if we want peace amongst college football fans, the Huskies need to bring home the title. 53+ Comments / 161 Add a Comment Sean Smith 1d ago Does Washington belong in the playoffs? Absolutely, yes. They're an undefeated P5 champ. But Washington is about to face different teams than they did during the regular season. Their defense will get demolished and their offense will get exposed. Reply(34) 20 Hunter Moyer 1d ago If Alabama wins it all… how can you say they didn’t deserve to be there?????? That would tell me that seeds 1-3 are bullshit. And Georgia deserved to be in it. This dude saying the stupidest shit Reply(10) 14 View all comments YOU MAY ALSO LIKE Local Georgia State Nick Saban Responds To Accusations That He's Responsible For College Football Playoff Drama Tuscaloosa, AL2 days ago Nick Saban Has Blunt Message For Michigan Ahead Of Rose Bowl Ann Arbor, MI2 days ago Georgia high school baseball star brain-dead after teammate accidentally hits him with bat during practice Gainesville, GA2 days ago Most Popular Fans Are Furious Over Final Play Of Army-Navy Game West Point, NY12 hours ago Bo Nix addresses ‘shock’ of the end of his college career Eugene, OR1 day ago College Football Head Coach Earns Massive Bonus After Winning Historic Rivalry Game West Point, NY4 hours ago Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders Suggests He’s Over His Head Coaching D1 College Football Boulder, CO2 days ago SEC Coach Admits He's 'Bothered' By Alabama Making College Football Playoff Over FSU Tuscaloosa, AL1 day ago College Football Fans In Awe Of Michael Penix's Heisman Ceremony Outfit Seattle, WA11 hours ago College Football Fans Are Saying The Same Thing About Marvin Harrison Jr’s Younger Brother Jett Columbus, OH11 hours ago Jason Kelce Says The College Football Playoff Committee Messed Up Tallahassee, FL2 days ago BREAKING: Alabama Football Loses Former Five-Star Recruit to Transfer Portal; Offensive Weapon Leaving Tuscaloosa After Disappointing 3 Catch Season Tuscaloosa, AL2 days ago Jayden Daniels Gives Two-Word Response To Question About His College Football Future Baton Rouge, LA4 hours ago 2023 Heisman Trophy Voting Results Revealed: Florida State’s Jordan Travis and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe Finish No. 5 and No. 6 Tallahassee, FL1 day ago Dabo Swinney Reacts To Florida State's College Football Playoff Snub Tallahassee, FL2 days ago Deion Sanders' Recruiting Victory Leaves College Football Fans Stunned Boulder, CO2 days ago Michigan Football Has a Key Factor That Alabama Does Not Tuscaloosa, AL2 days ago Nick Saban's Wife and Daughter React to Alabama Making College Football Playoff Tuscaloosa, AL2 days ago Dodgers miss out on Shohei Ohtani who signs with AL East team.
