I needed something that lasted through my day-shift as a teacher, and night-shift as a bartender; but nothing did. So I set out to make my own - just like I would with experimental cocktails (and later flavour formulas)! After purchasing my first 40 ingredients (materials), I soon got stuck into perfumery with all my spare time. Within weeks, I was making my own blends, and after taking inspiration from designer perfumers, I started to recreate theirs, as a challenge to myself. There was LOTS of reading and self-learning at this point as those $2000+ French courses were out of my reach (I was still working 110 hour weeks). After rummaging and getting to trial with friends and family, I was encouraged to sell it to them - at cost price, just to try it out. Soon, word got around and the support was tremendous. I left teaching fully and have since dedicated all my time outside the bare necessities to building this brand. It is the least I can do to show my gratitude for our early supporters.
