VMware Cloud Universal (VMCU)

VMware understand that the traditional way of procuring perpetual licenses does
not always fit with the new hybrid & multi-cloud strategies. And VMware wants to
bring the availability of choice and flexibility – and at the same time give you
investment protection of what you already have with VMware.

In the recently announced purchasing program, VMware Cloud Universal (VMCU),
VMware want to mitigate the common roadblocks you may encounter on a cloud
journey, such as uncertain timelines and long-running migrations, operational
consistency and control, vendor lock-in, and tough choices between on-premises,
public cloud, and application modernization projects.

VMware understand that you need a solution that allows you to adopt one or more
clouds, provide unified infrastructure and operations, and support any
application on any cloud.

A change in the commercial model can be both eagerly anticipated by you or not,
but this program has arisen due to requests by many customers around the world
to better fit the market requirements.
