What is the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program?
The Workplace Discount Program allows employees at eligible companies to buy an
annual subscription of Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal at a
discount for use on personal devices. In select markets, eligible employees also
receive a discount on select Surface devices and accessories.
Workplace Discount Program offers for Microsoft 365 and Surface devices are not
available in the same transaction and must be purchased in two separate
transactions.
What happened to the Home Use Program?
The Microsoft Home Use Program name was updated to Microsoft Workplace Discount
Program in July 2022. Any previously purchased discounted products are not
affected by the change in the program name. You’ll continue to receive
discounted rates on qualified subscriptions if you keep auto-renewal turned on.
Who qualifies for the Workplace Discount Program?
Employees who work at a company that satisfies the Workplace Discount Program
eligibility requirements.
Can I take advantage of the Workplace Discount Program offer if I already have
Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal?
Yes. If you already have Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal, you can
still take advantage of this discount. Once you purchase, additional time is
added to your existing subscription, and the discounted rate will begin at your
existing subscription’s annual renewal date. Be sure to specify the Microsoft
account that’s associated with your current Microsoft 365 subscription during
the purchase process.
What has changed with the Workplace Discount Program?
Microsoft has updated the Workplace Discount Program (formerly known as the Home
Use Program or HUP) to offer discounts on the latest versions of Microsoft 365
Personal and Family, which are always up to date with premium versions of Office
apps across all your devices. In select markets, eligible employees also receive
a discount on select Surface devices and accessories.
Workplace Discount Program offers for Microsoft 365 and Surface devices are not
available in the same transaction and must be purchased in two separate
transactions.
Office Professional Plus and Office Home and Business are no longer available as
Workplace Discount Program offers. Please go to the Order History page for more
information on previous purchases through the Workplace Discount Program.
How do I purchase Visio Professional 2021 and/or Project Professional 2021?
Workplace Discount Program reduced pricing on Visio Professional 2021 and
Project Professional 2021 is only available if your employer's Workplace
Discount Program administrator has selected you for one or more product-specific
discounts.
Make sure you’re signed in to the Microsoft Store with your personal account
associated with the Workplace Discount Program to view the discounted price of
the products.
If you expect to see a discount on these products, please contact your
organization’s Workplace Discount Program benefit administrator. Typically, the
Workplace Discount Program is managed by your organization’s benefits
coordinator, HR, or IT departments.
