Aim: This webinar will provide you with advice and practical guidance on
developing an effective school improvement plan in primary settings, explaining
the purpose and characteristics of the plan, and the stages involved in its
creation to ensure that it is successful in raising standards and improving
outcomes.

Rationale: The school improvement plan, also called the school development plan,
is the central document in which school leaders map out their strategy for the
development of their school. It drives all aspects of school improvement, and
its design thus requires careful consideration, honest evaluation and strategic
thinking.

 * Understanding what a school improvement plan is, and its role in helping to
   drive up standards in primary settings
 * Identifying the characteristics of an effective plan, how it should be
   structured and key information to include
 * Gaining an overview of the school improvement planning cycle and the
   processes involved in each stage
 * Understanding the specific stages of self-evaluation and school improvement
   planning, and how the one informs the other
 * Being able to put in place systems to effectively monitor the success of the
   school improvement plan

Eve Hedley has 22 years teaching experience in the MFL classroom across all key
stages and is passionate about languages, raising achievement and improving the
quality of teaching and learning in schools. She is a former deputy headteacher
and was in charge of quality of education and teaching and learning. Throughout
her career, Eve has been involved in some highly challenging, but ultimately
very successful school-to-school support programmes which have given her a
unique skill set and an insight into what is needed to affect change and
transform struggling schools and departments. Eve is a skilled coach, mentor,
AST and SLE and also runs a successful consultancy business offering training
and support to schools and other organisations.
