CIS CAPSTONE PORTFOLIO PROJECT: DAN DOES INTERNET.



Dan does internet is the web portfolio of computer and web programming student
Dan Plummer.

This project is actually the website that you're viewing right now. I coded this
website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and the Bootstrap library.

As I continue to develop my skills and work on projects, I'll keep them posted
up on this website. For more information on the inner workings of my portfolio,
please check out the credits section.

CIS CAPSTONE FINAL PROJECT: INNER WISDOM PSYCHOTHERAPY, LLC WEBSITE



For my Computer Information Systems Capstone course, my project was to build a
website for a local business. Through my girlfriend, I got into contact with the
owner of Inner Wisdom Psychotherapy, LLC, Patty Olson.

Patty had already built a website for her business, consisting of a single page
containing some brief information on how to contact her and set up an
appointment through her business. When I spoke with Patty, she expressed that
she had some more robust ideas in the works for what she would like to do with
her website.

I used ClickUp, and online project management platform, to manage and track
progress as I worked through the project.

The project went through several redesigns before a final layout was decided
upon.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES PROJECT: CRYPTO



For my Emerging Technologies in Information Systems course, I created a project
around cryptocurrency mining--which I had previously known next to nothing
about. The basis for the project was to find if it was possible to offset the
costs of electricity usage while mining cryptocurrencies on consume-grade
hardware. For this project, I would be using my own person desktop and laptop at
home to mine three different types of cryptocurrency over the course of several
weeks. I would track my electricity consumption during the hours of mining using
wi-fi smart plugs purchased on Amazon. Register and set up multiple
cryptocurrency wallets and accounts online, join mining pools, and research
viable options for cryptocurrency mining.

HI, MY NAME IS DAN AND I DO INTERNET.



I've been fascinated with computers and programming since childhood. When I was
in middle school, I taught myself HTML and CSS through W3Schools and picking
over page sources. I downloaded trial versions of Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro
and learned graphical design through countless hours of tutorials. I've had a
passion for web design ever since.

I love video games, pop culture, comic books, and hip-hop. I spend much of my
free time learning new programming languages and web design techniques, cooking,
and playing board games with friends.

I am currently just 4 credits away from completing my AAS in Computer and Web
Programming, and am looking for an internship to fulfill those credit
requirements.
