MPICH is a high performance and widely portable implementation of the Message
Passing Interface (MPI) standard.

MPICH and its derivatives form the most widely used implementations of MPI. They
are used on many of world’s top supercomputers, including the world’s first two
exascale machines (June 2024 ranking): Frontier and Aurora.
