Brisbane North Literacy Tutoring

Read Write Tutors provide specialised literacy tutoring for students with
learning differences, including dyslexia. We work with students of all ages,
P-12 and beyond. Every session is individually crafted to meet the needs of each
and every student.





IS YOUR CHILD EXPERIENCING THE FOLLOWING?

 * Has anxiety when reading aloud and will do ANYTHING to avoid reading.
 * Difficulty focussing on reading and writing tasks and often abandons before
   finishing.
 * Has trouble recognising words they should know or confuses the sounds of
   particular letters.
 * Has trouble understanding what they have just read.
 * Difficulty spelling many words correctly and struggles to write sentences
   that make sense.
 * Long pauses between words when reading and lacks expression.
 * Not at grade level in reading and consistently behind peers.
 * Reading and writing tasks take forever to complete – if at all!

If so, Read Right could be right for you. At Read Write we use evidenced-based
teaching practices, such as multi-sensory learning and systematic synthetic
phonics instruction, to meet learning needs for students with learning
differences.

Lessons are flexible and are tailored to suit learning differences, with built
in breaks and engaging activities to enhance learning focus.

We emphasise the development of a students’ self-esteem by creating engaging
learning sessions and developing excellent rapport with the student and in
building positive relationships with them.


FINDING A GREAT TUTOR

Finding a great tutor will really help to build confidence and get back on
track. Our nurturing approach to tuition could make all the difference – we
cover primary to Grade 12. We work regularly with students who

 * don’t have learning needs met in a busy classroom
 * don’t connect with their teacher in a way that promotes learning
 * suffer from anxiety in school or when assessments are due
 * have homework battles and a feeling of ‘slipping through the cracks’
 * lack confidence or motivation
 * face the on-going effect of falling behind due to a lack of teaching support
   during Covid


OLDER AND MATURE LEARNERS

Read write tutoring offers a catered program for older learners separate to the
program suited for primary students. Read Right teaches reading to older
students through programs built for older learners, designed to be engaging to
an older audience. With reading basics tutoring and assessment specific English
tutoring, read write offers literacy based tutoring to students of all ages.
