On Friday, 11 funerals were held in the Jenin refugee camp. Eight of the
deceased were camp residents who were killed by the Israeli army; three died of
natural causes. None of them could be buried during the 10 preceding days, on
account of the brutal Israel Defense Forces operation in the camp. The bodies of
another five people were seized by the army, for its purposes.

I say thank the almighty for the likes of Gideon Levy, a nearly lone voice in a
society that debases itself further each day.
I was born9 years after WW2 and believed for years that what happened in Germany
in the 20's and 30's was an aberation we would never see again. But Miko Peled
said it quite recently. Since Oct 7th he has avoided the use of the N word. But
now is the time to start comparing Israel to the Nazi regime. You really could
not make it up.

In the history of aerial warfare, I have never seen such brave and skillful
pilots as those of the Israel Defense Forces. They are able to masterfully drop
their 2000 pound bombs on precise areas of tents sheltering homeless refugees,
while at the same time avoiding an intense amount of rocks and curses from the
Palestinians, including those dastardly and dangerous women and children
terrorists.

up before the courts in the Hague and charged with genocide and other crimes
against humanity. That the atrocities you describe are being committed in the

The US will never abandon Israel because Israel is it's satellite in the middle
east. It is a buffer zone between the west and the Arab world. That's why
Netanyahu and his lackeys can act with such hutspa. Bring down the dome for 5
minutes and Israel doesn't exist anymore. But this behavior by the US and
Israeli governments is wrong and cruel. Regardless of what these people say
Hamas and Hezbollah exist to try and end the Zionist occupation of Palestine.
They are terrorists to Israel, they are freedom fighters to the rest of the
world and Israel's actions are cruel and anti Jewish. No matter what happens
Israel will never be the same. You've let the devil into your hearts.

I do wish that people who focus on writing lucid and accurate comments. How is
Israel a 'buffer zone'? A buffer zone provides a physical obstacle. The Arab
world has plenty of outlets to the Med. and other waters that bypass Israel.
There are plenty of other explanations that have been advanced and are more
relevant.

Don't rely on this. The practical use of Israel for the USA is zero. Israel does
not help the USA against anybody, except enemies that the USA would not have if
it were not for Israel. Israel creates problems and costs. There is a young

I think it's time to polish your mirror. It is obviously clouded by hate which
is the only emotion Israelis are capable of towards Arabs when they welcomed us

Gideon's columns are words of wisdom and sanity. I am more concerned if it's
going to rain today than the deaths and suffering of the six Israeli hostages in
Gaza. The murders of the Israeli hostages don't bother me at all.
The horrible suffering of the Palestinians is all what concerns me.

Is this supposed to be sarcastic? Critical of Gideon's concern with human
rights? Trying to blame him for one-sidedness? Who said that he is not concerned
with all the victims on all sides? What seems anachronistic and subhuman to him
(and to me) is a concern for just one side, and what Gideon is trying to say is
that most Israelis are completely blind to Palestinian suffering and their own
guilt while demanding understanding from the world for their suffering…

not. I am though very concerned about the injustice Palestinians are suffering
under the Israeli Jews boots. I do also feel sympathy for the hostages held by
