Nielsen Holdings has struggled as a public company, but a possible buyout by a
consortium that incudes activist investor Elliott Investment Management could
bring some relief.

Elliott has been an investor in Nielsen (ticker: NLSN), known for providing TV
viewership data, since 2018. That’s when the firm pushed Nielsen to make
changes. In recent years, Nielsen has hired a new CEO, installed several new
directors, authorized a $1 billion share repurchase, and sold assets.
