The standard ACE cleaning heads operate by combing antistatic effect (an antistatic bar is placed before cleaning to neutralize the substrate) with the right balance of blowing and suction. Now, the new ACE air flow fine adjustment offers improved dust removal performance on any kind of substrate, while the new integrated antistatic system, other than the antistatic bar, placed at the air inlets and outlets of the cleaning head, prevents the creation of dangerous electrostatic charges, due to the friction between dust particles, so to generate an electrostatic-free environment and easily remove the dust in the cleaning head and the connected piping that brings the dust to the filtering unit. Productivity, product quality and safety conditions are increased by the new ACE cleaning solution. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MICROPOROUS TUBES AST BESCHICHTUNGSTECHNIK GMBH, GERMANY Our new innovation guided our customers to a big lead. Through our years of experience, we have been able to develop microporous tubes. Your advantages in non-contact deflection are: - Guiding of Sensitive Materials - No consumption - Long life rollers Your advantages by using them with a vacuum are: - High friction - flexible editing possibilities - Flexible handling possibilities -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENERGY SAVINGS THROUGH INERT UV CURING CHAMBERS ON CHILLED DRUMS DR. HÖNLE AG, GERMANY UV-curing in absence of oxygen is called inertisation and brings significant advantages to the process. Oxygen inhibits the polymerization process and might cause the need for more UV-lamps, resulting in higher energy consumption. Inertisation substitutes the oxygen by nitrogen which does not influence the polymerization. This technology is already well established, but mainly for flat-bed applications. New is the transfer of this technology to wide-format production lines on chilled drums. UV-curing under inert conditions on chilled drums combines the advantages of inertisation, like reduced number of UV-lamps, reduced amount of photoinitiators and higher line speeds with the advantages of the chilled drum, which is better web cooling and reduced nitrogen consumption of approx. 10 %. Thanks to the horizontal movement of the lamp housing the access for cleaning and maintenance is very easy. In summary, this combination helps to reduce the overall energy and nitrogen consumption of the curing process. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- POLYCOLD MAXCOOL 2000 CRYOCHILLER EDWARDS, UNITED KINGDOM Edwards Polycold® MaxCool Cryochillers are closed loop cryogenic refrigeration systems that effectively capture water vapour, which comprises 65% to 95% of the residual gas in high vacuum systems. In contrast to conventional tension monitoring systems with a force sensor on each end of the roll, this system provides up to 40 measuring values across the entire web. Especially when it comes to the processing of elastic or sensitive materials this extended monitoring offers improvements for various machine and production types. Slitter / rewinder - Easy identification of faulty winding shafts or differential shafts - Comfortable display of the tension values of each individual strip - Highest flexibility in terms of the total number of the segments, segment widths and lateral position Coating lines - Tension profile for better under-standing of the process - Fast detection and elimination of process or material related faults and malfunctions - Fast quality assessment of the delivered material rolls -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROBOT FLEX PACKER THE FLEXIBLE PACKAGING-SOLUTION FOR YOUR ROLL PRODUCTS KOCH INDUSTRIEANLAGEN GMBH, GERMANY Thanks to the robot-assisted film packaging machine developed and patented by KOCH, rolls of flexible packaging with cut widths of 50mm to 600mm can be securely and compactly wrapped by means of film sealing. The rolls are guided by a robot through a film curtain, sealed on three sides and a pocket is formed in the sleeve for the subsequent palletizing process. The advantages are obvious: the 6-axis robot can also be used for fully automatic unloading of the slitting and wrapping machine. Single as well as double wrapping is possible. The changeover to flexible products is fully automatic. Saving of working time and the high line availability increase the profitability of the complete production. The compact design, the wide product range and the fully automatic product changeover within the machine make the Robot Flex Packer the ultimate packaging system for the roll production. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SAFE PROCESS CONTROL DUE TO EXTREMELY ANTI-ADHESIVE GUIDE ROLLER COATINGS MITEX GMBH, GERMANY Sticking to rolls can lead to noise, contamination and machine downtime. Anyone who processes film, paper and foil with sticky media knows these challenges. MITEX High Release 45 AS is a new guide roll coating that prevents sticking due to its extreme anti-adhesiveness and thus solves the problem in the long term. In addition, the material is antistatic and thus avoids electrical charging in the process. The unique properties of this coating greatly reduce the build-up of adhesive and the resulting product contamination, as well as lowering production noise due to the lack of adhesion of the substrate webs. Conventional solutions such as coiled tapes and tubes made of Teflon or silicone-coated surfaces also suffer in terms of service life and are sometimes uneconomical due to time-consuming manual assembly. The strong core bond of the coating tolerates cuts and can be used for a long time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW WAY OF MEASURING THE TEMPERATURE OF A ROLLER NIP NIP CONTROL AB, SWEDEN Measuring temperature accurately is generally difficult and it is especially challenging to measure surface temperatures. A roller nip, where one or both rollers have a rubber cover, places high demands on the selected measuring method. Nip Control has developed a hand-held measuring instrument with a thin sensor blade that is placed in - or rolled through - the nip, thereby measuring the surface temperature between the two rollers. This method provides a number of benefits. First of all, the instrument is easy to use, and it is easy to read the measured temperature. Secondly, the displayed value shows the actual process temperature in the nip enabling better process capability. The instrument’s working range is 20 - 120 C°, with a measuring resolution of 0.5 degrees. The accuracy is +/- 0.25 degrees Celsius. The sensor is easily replaceable and can be used up to 1 000 times. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLEVER USE OF DEFECTS: REDUCTION OF REJECTS, REWORK AND MACHINERY BREAKDOWNS OCS OPTICAL CONTROL SYSTEMS GMBH, GERMANY With the OCS Web Inspection System FSP600, all kinds of irregularities in the production of web materials can be detected in real time using high-speed cameras. Depending on the properties of the inspection material, the system can be set up in different camera and lighting constellations. With the smart and innovative MCE (Multi Channel Evaluation) technology, detection in reflected or transmitted light mode as well as in dark and bright field applications can be combined, and all this with one hardware (camera). This enables the simultaneous detection of defects on up to 6 channels. For example, one channel for the reflection of surface defects, three additional channels for transmission (red, green and blue =RGB) for better defect detection and classification. Defect references are learned with the help of the teach-in function, a standardised classification of the film rolls ( calculation of grades) can be made. Complete traceability and data transfer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOUBLECOAT PAVES THE WAY TO AN INNOVATIVE, RESOURCE-SAVING PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY WHICH HELPS FAST-TRACK A HIGHER PERFORMANCE SML MASCHINENGESELLSCHAFT MBH, AUSTRIA „DoubleCoat“ is a patented process for the production of ultra-thin, breathable laminates with outstanding properties. Even though the coating thickness is reduced to a minimum, there is still a comparatively high water resistance and excellent breathability. Two consecutive process stages are at the heart of this significant added value. In „DoubleCoat“, SML has merged the production of an extremely thin membrane and subsequent laminating using an open-pored adhesive layer (a hotmelt layer). This opens up a wealth of opportunities for users to compound manufacturing processes, formerly involving several stages, and to simultaneously create highly innovative products with the lowest possible raw material input. These include hygiene articles, as well as protective suits or roof and façade underlays. Coating thicknesses can even be cut by more than half, without any concessions to functionality. Quite the opposite is true since the thinner the extruded membrane, the higher the water vapour permeability of the final product. And, this has yet another positive effect: merging the process stages allows a lower use of polymer which translates into a clear reduction in production costs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DESMASYSTEM: THE MOST VERSATILE WASTE MATRIX REMOVAL SYSTEM TECNOCUT, SPAIN Our waste matrix removal system performs a sliding rewinding shaft for astonishing stripping speeds in the label and converting industry. It is adaptable to all types of machinery. It has been designed to simplify the set-up, make automated presses, and prevent costly downtime during production. The Desmasystem enable to modify the web path to allow a different angle of detachment of the waste and prevent the paper’s breakage and shrinkage. It is the perfect solution to optimize the entire press process and increase productivity. And it is all this what makes it one of the most efficient solutions on the market. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TESA® 51948 EASYSPLICE FILMLINE BLACK X TESA SE, GERMANY Nowadays, packaging films are equipped with slip additives to package foods such as rice or pasta faster and more efficiently. However, the use of these slip additives does not only bring advantages. The slip additives migrate continuously onto the film surface, where they form a kind of boundary layer that reduces the wetting effect of a splicing tape, which impairs the bond between the film and splicing tape and thus reduces splicing performance. Our new "Black X" makes the difference: The core feature of tesa® 51948 is the new very high tack contact adhesive. It provides excellent wetting properties on high-slip films to ensure a secure splice performance even at high machine speeds. In addition, the new contact adhesive of tesa® 51948 shows excellent splice performance on recycled film and non-woven substrates. Waste can be minimized as the splice is reliably detected by the black color of the PET backing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BLADES REDUCE CHANGE OVER TIMES DRASTICALLY VICKERS BLADE MANUFACTURING LTD, NETHERLANDS Vickers makes blades out of tungsten carbide. This ultra hard material increases the life of the blade up to 6 to10 times compared to uncoated steels. Especially in slitting operations where wear of the slitting blades cause extensive change- over times, reduction of wear can lead to signicant cost savings. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WASTAGE MINIMIZATION BY CONTINUOUS PROCESS MONITORING WORK MICROWAVE GMBH, GERMANY Efficiency requires a minimization – of process steps, manufacturing cost, manufacturing time, energy consumption required material and production wastage. Especially batch based production models which verify product quality by spot samples after production a negative test result can render a whole lot as waste. Disastrous in regard of production time and financial losses. To minimize product wastage an instant process error detection or continuous process control is essential. To allow a continuous monitoring of process parameters, for example glue application during the manufacturing of thicker materials like corrugated cardboard plates, we developed a contactless sensor based on radar technology. It features an easy single side mechanical integration and a large compatible product thickness. Our WORKSens RS Series offers an extensive solution for continuous accurate inline process monitoring, able to integrate in established lines as well as harmonizing with new digital Industry-4.0 concepts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DATES FOR YOUR DIARY Closing Date for Entries 12th January 2022 Voting Opens 13th January 2022 Voting Closes 10th February 2022 Awards Ceremony 15th March 2022 * English * Deutsch * Italiano QUICK LINKS * Get your ticket now * About the Event * Visitor Information * Press Hub OPENING HOURS 15th March 2022 9:00 - 17:00 16th March 2022 9:00 - 17:00 17th March 2022 9:00 - 16:00 Add to Your Calendar CONTACT US ICE Europe Team Mack Brooks Exhibitions Tel: +44 (0)1727 814 410 Email: info@ice-x.com Twitter twitter.com/ICE_Europe Facebook facebook.com/ICE.Europe LinkedIn linkedin.com/ice-europe YouTube youtube.com/ICEEurope OTHER ICE EVENTS Organised By Admission Policy | Privacy Policy | Cookie Policy | Sitemap | ©2022 Mack Brooks Exhibitions Cookies Settings PRIVACY PREFERENCE CENTER When you visit any website, it may store or retrieve information on your browser, mostly in the form of cookies.
