About the Crowdloan

The purpose of the EWX crowdloan is to secure a parachain slot on the Polkadot
Relay Chain, which will allow EWX to leverage the security and scalability
inherent in Polkadot’s infrastructure. Contributing to the crowdloan represents
a unique opportunity for the Polkadot and Energy Web communities to help expand
the Energy Web ecosystem to the to the Polkadot network and support Energy Web’s
mission to accelerate the energy transition.

How it works
Lend
Contributors lend DOT tokens directly on Polkadot in support of the EWX launch.
Launch
If EWX wins an auction and secures a parachain slot, EWX will be connected to
the Polkadot relay chain
Reward
Contributors can acquire one EWT for every DOT lent in the crowdloan
Operate
EWX will operate as a public parachain in support of energy sector applications

Who can participate in the crowdloan?



Any holder of DOT can participate in the crowdloan.

What are the rewards for participating in the crowdloan?



As a reward, participants will receive 1 EWT for each 1 DOT contributed.

When can I get my DOT back?



If successful the DOT will be locked for 96 weeks after 23/10/2023, then
automatically returned to contributors if the crowdloan wins any auction.

When will I receive my EWT rewards?



The rewards are paid out in regular intervals starting in early 2024.

What happens if the auction is not successful?



If the initial auction is unsuccessful, all DOT will be returned to
contributors. A new auction process will then be announced and initiated.
Contributors to the initial crowdloan will be able to participate in the second
crowdloan as well.

Do I need a Polkadot wallet to participate?



To participate, you will need access to a wallet capable of storing DOT.
