Angie has been a member of the Marshall Dream Team for 8 years and was a 5-year member of the John Jordan Jaybirds 4-H Club in Shelby County. Take a look at Angie's interview questions below and find out why she's a great addition to our volunteer team! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭? I work with the 12th graders for the Soft Skills Scholarship and enjoy seeing how impressive our Marshall seniors are as they put their skills to use as they take their next steps in life. Our community is so proud of them! I work with my 8th-grade class at Marshall Junior High on their 100 Dreams list, and it is a privilege to see what big plans these students have. The future looks bright! I also work with Marshall 4th graders on learning to dream. Their imagination and creativity are energizing. Each age group is special; I really can't choose a favorite. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦? I love getting to witness students of all ages focusing on their hopes and dreams for the future and thinking about what they are working so hard for. I'm blessed to get to team up with Vicki Meehan, who is a gifted teacher. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲? One day Tiffany Macke and I were co-teaching a class, and an 8th grader said that he had always wanted to know what it was like to be a team mascot. I knew where our lion cub mascot outfit was stored, so the next day he came running into class dressed as the lion. The class cheered as he lived out his fun dream! 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦? Many students have shared heart-warming stories of checking a dream off of their list. Most of the special things I have done with my own family have come from either my dream list or my children's. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝, 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲? My grandmother, to ask her all of the things about her life I didn't know to ask as a child. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Helpful, fun-loving, and organized...a junior high librarian of 20 years must be these three things. Thank you to Angie and all of our incredible volunteers for helping make our team better!
