WELCOME TO TROOP 1196!

 

BSA Troop 1196 G was originally chartered by Prince of Peace, and is now
chartered by VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1503, located in Dale
City, Virginia.  The troop meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30
P.M. The troop is open to all girls 11-17 years of age.

BSA Troop 1196 B was a troop in the Prince William District which has merged
with Troop 1919.  Troop 1919 is also chartered by the VFW and additional
information can be found at https://www.troop1919.com/about/. 

In addition to weekly troop meetings, the Troops strive to conduct monthly
campouts year-round and travel to different summer camps each year. Pre-Covid,
both troops traveled to Camp Daniel Boone in North Carolina. In the summer of
2022, the Troops attended summer camp in Michigan.  Next Summer, who knows?

SWIMMING AND LIFESAVING MERIT BADGE OPPORTUNITY

Message:
Freddy Jimenez, ASM at 1919 is working with scouts on  swimming and lifesaving
merit badges and would like to see if anyone else from 1919 or 1196 might be
interested. If you are interested, please reach out immediately. The current
plan is to meet at the Dale City Rec Center pool during their open swim next
Friday, 9/8/23, at approximately 2:30/3pm. There may be additional days required
but currently playing by ear based on what can be completed between 30min - 1hr.
There will be lifeguards on duty, assisting through the requirements and the
cost to swim is $9/ea.
