ROAD TRIPS & EXPLORING AUSTRALIA

Australians love to travel and self-driving ‘The Big Lap’ of the country is high
on the bucket list for many. A drive around Australia takes a long, long time
and it’s little wonder that many Aussies spend a year or more on the road
exploring, living in tents, caravans or motorhomes.

The drive around Australia covers 14, 935 km / 9,280 miles via National Highway
1.

Even the little island state of  Tasmania can easily take a few months to fully
explore and the famous East Coast Road Trip from Sydney up to Cairns in Far
North Queensland needs about 6 weeks to experience.

For many visitors to the country, a self-drive road trip through the outback
regions of Australia, such as Melbourne to Uluru (Ayers Rock) will be a once in
a lifetime experience. We still have many miles of unsealed red-dirt roads where
it is possible to be well off the main routes and get to know remote regions of
the country.

It is also possible to drive the whole way around Australia and keep to sealed
roads whilst still seeing the outback as well as the coastal regions, mountains,
and cities the country is famous for.

 EXPLORING VICTORIA

Victoria is a state full of surprises and has more than enough natural
attractions to keep visitors busy for months. From the capital city of Melbourne
to the high country, mountains, our world-famous drive along the Great Ocean
Road & 12 Apostles , and some of the best beaches in the country.

Much of our focus is within Victoria, hiking, canoeing, camping, and creating
self-drive itineraries to help visitors plan trips.

Melbourne offers superb accommodation as well as plenty to see and do, art
galleries, museums, historical buildings, art-covered laneways, splendid
arcades, and lush gardens are all centrally located within the city.

Did you know it is possible to see Little Penguins in Melbourne or, less than an
hour’s drive away, you can walk in the beautiful cool temperate rainforest of
the Dandenong Ranges?

We love road trips and have a number of itineraries that may help others with
planning, most of our drives start in Melbourne and have included two weeks to
see Uluru, touring The Flinders Ranges, camping, and exploring New South Wales
and within Victoria.
