Do Purple Mattresses need a box spring or foundation?

You won't want to use a box spring. The springs of a box spring can break down
over time and cause the mattress to sag. Purple mattresses need a flat, sturdy
surface to rest on. This can be a platform, slats (3" apart or less), box
foundation (as opposed to a box spring), an adjustable bed frame, or even the
floor – it all works just fine. We recommend one of our bases like the Purple
Platform Bed Frame.

What makes Purple different than other brands?

In short, the Purple GelFlex® Grid. Specially engineered for perfectly balanced
comfort and support, Purple’s patented GelFlex® technology has been used and
tested rigorously within medical and consumer applications for over 20 years. In
that time, Purple engineers have researched the different mattress materials to
know what pairs best with our life-changing technology.

Here’s what we've found: Memory foam doesn't consistently give you the support
you need throughout the night and generally sleeps hot. Latex foam tends to
break down quickly, leaving you in a pit of high-priced despair. Traditional
spring mattresses don’t relieve pressure and cause a great deal of motion
transfer, not to mention the squeaking. Adjustable air mattresses make you
choose between hard bed problems and soft bed problems, leaving you with a sore

You can purchase a Purple mattress online or by visiting one of our mattress
stores. Some people enjoy visiting a showroom and talking with a salesman, while
others prefer the convenience and privacy of mattress shopping online.

The choice is yours! Back in the day, the only way to properly test a mattress
was to visit a store in person. Shoppers would lay on a demo mattress for a few
minutes, make a decision, and hope for the best. But for many people, testing a
mattress for 5-10 minutes is not enough time. That’s why Purple offers a
100-night risk-free trial for every mattress. This gives you plenty of time to
fall in love with your Purple and experience restful sleep, night after night.
And if you are unsatisfied for any reason, we’ll come pick up your mattress and
give you a refund.

Purple also offers Affirm Financing options for as low as 0% APR. With easy
monthly payments and no hidden fees, you can be sleeping on a Purple for less
than the cost of a cup of coffee a day! To qualify, simply select “Affirm
Monthly Payments” at checkout.

What size of mattress do you need?

When choosing a mattress size, it's important to consider the space of the
bedroom and the height of the sleeper. Some of the most common mattress sizes
are Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, and King. Each of these mattress sizes can
provide certain benefits. Queen mattresses are the most popular, due to their
size and affordability. A King mattress may be the best mattress for couples for
its extra space and comfort, though you need to consider the size of the room
and available budget. For single-sleeping teens and adults, a Twin XL or Full

Do you need a new bed foundation?

What kind of mattress frame or bed foundation do you need?
There are many different options, and they’re not created equal. A box spring is
designed for a traditional innerspring mattress, and may not work well for other
mattress types. Consider a bed foundation made from metal or wood instead. In

When it’s time to say goodbye to your old mattress, it’s important to do it
safely and legally. Consider donating your old mattress to someone in need. If
your mattress is in good shape, look for local thrift stores or charitable
organizations. If you want to recycle your mattress, a local recycling center
can help make sure it’s handled safely. You can also call your local sanitation
department to see if mattress pickup and disposal is part of curbside collection
in your area. If your local sanitation department is unable to pick it up, they
may still accept foam mattresses at the landfill or other drop-off locations.
There are plenty of options for disposing of your old mattress safely and

100-Night Trial

Your 100-night trial begins the day your mattress is delivered to your doorstep.
If you decide it isn't a perfect fit for you within the first 100 nights, we'll
have it picked up and issue a full refund. (Awesome, right?)

We do ask all customers to spend at least 21 nights on their mattress before
starting a return or exchange so their bodies have enough time to adjust to
Purple's unique feel + support!

10-Year Warranty

If there's something wrong with your mattress, we'll replace it for up to 10
years, starting from the date of original purchase. 

This warranty is valid only if the purchaser uses the product for personal
consumer use. The warranty no longer applies after any resale, whether new or
used. Original, dated proof of purchase by the original purchaser; official
warranty document; and law tags are required to make a warranty claim.

Free Returns

If you don’t love your mattress, just contact one of our Sleep Experts to
confirm eligibility and arrange a return. We'll pick it up and issue you a full
refund. 

To be eligible for a return, you must be within the 100-night trial period and
have had the mattress for at least 21 days; the mattress must also be clean and
undamaged. You will be refunded the full mattress price minus the value of any
discount, interest accrued, and/or shipping charges.

For questions about products purchased at a retail location, please contact the
store directly.
