difficile, which is the leading cause of devastating Hospital Acquired
Infections (HAIs). Hardy’s product is capable of monitoring environmental
surfaces in the patient’s room for both spores and vegetative cells of C.
difficile. This is a much needed tool (and the first of it kind) in the fight
against infections due to contamination.

2016

Hardy becomes the first culture media company to offer a highly selective
chromogenic medium specifically for gram negative rod ESBL organisms; sometimes
referred to in the press as “superbugs.” This new medium will isolate and detect
these highly resistant strains of E. coli (pictured) and Klebsiella. Growth of
resistant strains occur from stool cultures in about 24 hours. Further testing
