autonomous organization under the Financial Institutions Division (FID) of the
Ministry of Finance, operates under the guidance of its Board of Directors and
General Body. SDF is dedicated to the socio-economic development of rural poor
communities, focusing on transforming their livelihoods in alignment with
sustainable development goals. Through its initiatives, the organization

Our missionOur visionOur Strategy

Founded in 2000, SDF is a not-for-profit organization focused on empowering
rural communities and alleviating poverty in Bangladesh. Operating in 9,333
villages across 35 districts, SDF directly supports 1.85 million households
through initiatives in health, education, employment, and entrepreneurship. With
96% women beneficiaries, SDF addresses 11 out of 17 SDGs, fostering sustainable
socio-economic development and gender empowerment.
