WHAT IS YOUR SHORTEST ONE-SENTENCE PITCH FOR WHAT YOUR STARTUP DOES?

The Founder Institute recommends that founders must develop one-sentence pitch
to grab potential customers, partners, and investors' attention quickly. Adeo
Ressi, CEO of Founder Institute, says, “If you can't describe your business in
one-sentence, then you don't understand it well enough.” 

Background:

 * Ressi suggests that the best one-sentence pitches are short, have a defined
   offering and audience, convey the problem being solved, and highlight the
   unique way in which the startup is tackling the problem. 
 * Here are few examples of one-sentence pitches:
   * “My company, Airto, is developing a web-based social seating check-in
     platform to help air travelers see who is on board their flight and use
     Facebook and LinkedIn to assign all flight seats with one click.”
   * “My company, GradeZone Points, is developing an online and mobile platform
     to help socially-conscious businesses reward high school students for good
     grades and good attendance with deals and local programs that inspire a
     community-wide concern for education.”

Killer! Here's my unsolicited advice - does the first mover line actually
connect with your customers? That might be something said to investors, but the
audience that acutally uses your product probaby doesn't care. 

That's almost like Uber saying, "first online marketplace to book a car" or
whatever. 

I'd personally shorten and add some impact in the pitch, like: Give the
perfecting gifting experience with UnboxMyGift.

Thank you so much for your reply, it is highly appreciated :-) and we like your
proposed one liner :-)

it is nice to be compared to Bloomberg :-) the only thing is we are very
different. The biggest difference we have with Bloomberg is the quality of the
data; Bloomberg is very intermediated and super slow (old world), Arbitrage
Technologies delivers the pure exchange data., without any delays at 90% of the
costs (new world). Our biggest opportunity is the synergy we have with Google
Cloud, Google just opened the market by signing a $ 1 B partnership with one of
the largest exchanges of the world (CME in Chicago). This will be
transformational for the industry.

Google already showed interest in our technologies :-)

Today, Bloomberg is more used as a media tool, it is not a performing trading
system. As you can see the industry is complex and a lot is going on and to
recap all in one short phrase is challenging, but we could try:

Arbitrage Technologies: the power of high performance trading at 90% of the
costs in the new Google Cloud

I've seen your company a few times. It's really interesting. One advice I have
is not start off the one-liner with a declarative negaitve that is technically
purely subjective. 

Email is dead is your opinon. Not a fact. And by starting with that, you're
automatically pushing away email heavy businesses (which is so much more than
anyone realizes). 

I'd be a litte more positive with something like, "X% of globabl businesses use
WhatsApp. We'll help you connect with them."

Kyle - we usually receive less than 1% of company equity to work with the team
from their first (pre-seed) external round, right through to their Series A, or
until the training wheels come off. In certain cases, we receive a small
percentage in cash of the funds we personally raise once those funds have been
received by the Startup. However, the majority of our work (80%) is not actual
fundraising, it's getting them in the right mind frame, getting their document
pack (virtual data room) ready, and also working on getting top-line sales (ARR)
or users (MAU) up to a point where we know angel and early-stage VC investors
expect to see, prior to making any initial investor outreach,

Sentence v1 above is the shortest and represents our "Why" or North star.

I shared my thoughts, gave a shortest pitch (v1) and shared what I think the key
elements are.

As a 2X founder with a prior profitable exit backed by Techstars I don't expend
energy 'to get noticed' or 'to SPAM' - nor do I make assumptions about other
founders rooted in negativity.

What I do do (lol) is listen carefully to what people say and screen for values
in the partners I accept -- investors, team members, customers, etc.  What you
show me here is concerning, but I am grateful to know now that we will not make
the mistake of working together.  All the more important since your 'Big Rentals
Software' embeds a social impact premise, I don't have to wonder whether this is
*merely performative or rooted in authentic empathy. ;)

25 million Americans have undiagnosed sleep apnea.  There's about a 4:1 test to
diagnosis ratio, so we need to do 100 million tests just to help everyone who is
sick today.  The U.S. only does about 4 million tests - 1 million in the lab,
and 3 million at home.  

Clinician pain points with competitive diagnostic devices are high expense,
complicated setup, mobile phone requirements for patients, cleaning or
sterilization necessity before re-use, disposable units require chips on the
shortage list, inadequate pool of diagnosing physicians, and complicated
logistics for providers.
