As of 29 July, 1 026 people were admitted in hospitals around the country, 116 of them in ICU and 40 patients were on a ventilator. NOTE: The sharp increase in current admissions seen on 4 and 5 October are due to a large number of public hospitals in Gauteng reporting coronavirus patient admissions to the NICD. Hospitilisation data reporting has become fractured and irregular. The graph below depicts the latest available hospital data. Historic admissions have been included from 28 January 2021 so there may be an increase in records in each week as a result.
