HOSPITALISATIONS

As of 29 July, a total of 540 779 people have been admitted to hospital after
contracting Covid-19, according to data reported to the NICD by 669 hospitals.

NOTE: The sharp increase in current admissions seen on 4 and 5 October are due
to a large number of public hospitals in Gauteng reporting coronavirus patient
admissions to the NICD. Hospitilisation data reporting has become fractured and
irregular. The graph below depicts the latest available hospital data.

Historic admissions have been included from 28 January 2021 so there may be an
increase in records in each week as a result.
