WHO WE ARE The Apple Box company was born out of the desire of a group of residents living in Leeds to make a difference to the communities they lived in. The Apple Box Company is an innovative, not-for- profit community focused organisation which was set up in 2011 to pro-actively help small communities across Leeds to influence and be involved in their community’s social cohesion and development. We support each other in meeting our own economic, health and social etc. needs. We have recently moved into our premises based on Chapeltown Road that is available for use by the community on assessment , fit for purpose and an affordable community asset. HOW WE DO IT We deliver our services and activities through community led consultation and co -production, regular community led reviews and evaluations community-based volunteers and staff working alongside experienced facilitators, mentors, and partners. APPLE BOX COMMUNITY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP We work with mainstream and voluntary sector partners to explore factors affecting relationship between clients and their staff focusing on areas e.g. imbalance of power and authority, cultural naivety, poor communication we also work with organisations to improve take up of their services by black clients. * Button * Button * Button * Button ARTS & HERITAGE We engage people with local history, heritage sites, museums and galleries to explore their identity, heritage and sense of place. RESEARCH We connect local people in meaningful dialogue with stakeholders agencies, supporting the development of local policies, strategies and service delivery. WE WORK TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE Apple Box is an innovative, not-for-profit social enterprise set up in 2011 to proactively address issues of community cohesion, educational attainment, skills development and behavioural change.
