ABOUT THIS EVENT

A PRESTIGIOUS AND INTIMATE EVENING EVENT IN THE HEART OF LONDON’S WEST END

Innovation News Network is proud to launch the inaugural INN Talks event. This
evening event taking place at the inspiring Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London’s
West End will present the unique opportunity to hear from industry leaders
working at the forefront of the UK’s battery innovation sector.

CAN THE UK BECOME A GLOBAL LEADER IN BATTERY INNOVATION?

In recent years, the UK has faced a number of problems with securing a battery
supply chain but it is not too late for the country to seize the opportunity of
the global battery supply market, which is projected to be worth between $116bn
to $278bn by 2030.

With the opportunity presented by the global battery chain, there is still time
for the UK to catch up to competitors, but does UK industry have what it takes
to innovate, and overcome the barriers to securing a supply chain?

INN talks will hear from two experts in the battery sector who will shed light
on how industry can help the UK secure a strong global position as a leader in
battery innovation. We will consider how the UK must work to address the current
gaps in the supply chain and explore the barriers that need to be overcome to
guarantee a circular system.

Each speaker will take to the stage to give an in-depth presentation with an
audience Q&A, which will be followed by drinks, nibbles and networking. Your
chance to meet our speakers and network with your peers.

JEFF TOWNSEND

FOUNDER

CRITICAL MINERALS ASSOCIATION

Jeff founded the Critical Minerals Association United Kingdom (CMA UK) in 2020
after identifying the need to provide a platform to unify industry and academic
voices while lobbying the government to address risks in critical minerals
supply chains. The association has grown steadily. The CMA Australia was
launched in 2022 with CMA USA underway. The domestically-focused associations
are coordinated by the umbrella organisation, Critical Minerals International
Alliance which aims to bring like-minded nations together to create integrated,
resilient, low-carbon, supply chains.

Jeff is a public affairs and campaign strategist with experience working in the
highest levels of business and politics. He brings skills in lobbying, public
and government affairs, campaign strategy development and communications. He is
well connected with political arenas in the UK, EU, Middle East and Africa. From
a mining background, he knows the importance of the mining sector and is
passionate about securing the UK’s critical mineral supply chains.

AVALON ADVANCED MATERIALS INC.

ENHANCING CRITICAL MINERALS SUPPLY CHAINS

Avalon is unique among junior mineral development companies in Canada in having
a diversified asset base with the potential to produce lithium, tantalum,
caesium, rare earths, indium, gallium, germanium, zirconium, and tin.

All are critical minerals needed for clean energy, aerospace, defence, energy
efficiency, modern electronics, medicine and much more. The key to developing
these new critical minerals supplies is the innovation of more efficient
extraction technologies that reduce costs and minimise environmental impacts
while creating social benefits.

They should also be developed initially at a modest scale to define the
appropriate extraction process and prove the product will meet the needs of the
end-users.

Avalon’s extensive experience with critical minerals and long-standing
commitment to sustainability and social responsibility puts the company in a
unique position to utilise its strategic resource inventory to establish
multiple efficient, sustainable critical minerals supply chains and create new
economic development opportunities for Indigenous communities in northern
Canada.

Avalon recently obtained a good ESG Risk Rating and was ESG-ranked among the top
5% of lithium companies in the world by Benchmark Mineral Intelligence.
