We may earn a commission if you buy through links on our site. JOE CICAK/istockphoto KEEPING PRODUCTION STATESIDE As the economy becomes increasingly globalized, it's more difficult to find products made in the United States. Yet for many consumers, "Made in USA" is a mark of quality that makes a purchase more worthwhile: Surveys show almost two-thirds of respondents preferring to buy American-made and more than one-fifth saying they'd be willing to pay up to 10% more for an American-made product. Although many popular brands seem to be stamped "Made in China," there are still companies whose products are made right here in the USA. Prices and availability are subject to change. Editor's note: This story was updated in June 2024 Amazon WEBER GRILLS Buy on $139.00 $154.80 Buy from Walmart Buy from Home Depot $139 from Amazon Shop Now Available on eBay The rounded shape of the Weber grill, which hasn't changed since it was first designed in 1952, has helped make it a recognizable fixture at many outdoor cookouts. Although Weber does make gas models overseas, all other Weber grills are made at the company's headquarters in Palatine, Illinois, including Cheapism's pick for best charcoal grill. Airstream AIRSTREAM TRAILERS Buy from Airstream Buy from eBay $46,000 and up from Airstream Shop Now Available on eBay Often associated with cross-country road trips of yesteryear, the iconic aluminum Airstream trailer is now the oldest luxury trailer in the industry (which means you'll find plenty of used models on the market). Its longevity is thanks in large part to the high-quality manufacturing processes at the company's plant in Jackson Center, Ohio, which still employs nearly 500 people. If even Airstream's smaller trailers are too much, there's branded clothing and accessories available at the online store. Gibson GIBSON GUITARS Buy from Gibson Buy from Sam Ash Buy from Musician's Friend $1,499 and up from Gibson Shop Now Available on eBay Gibson guitars are among the most iconic instruments in popular music, and the company is fittingly based in Nashville, also known as Music City. The company was founded in Michigan more than a century ago and now makes its guitars at factories in Tennessee and Montana. Prices can go well into the thousands for certain guitars on Amazon. The company went through a bankruptcy reorganization in 2018 and began a back-to-basics approach with good results; pandemic popularity has brought plans for a major expansion to its factory in Bozeman.
