OPEN POSITIONS


WATER SYSTEM OPERATOR II

$92,851.20 - $113,984.00 ANNUALLY

Under general supervision, the Water System Operator II performs water sampling
following state and federal regulations and a variety of skilled and
semi-skilled maintenance: operates, inspects, cleans and repairs various
components of the water distribution system, water tanks, booster stations,
wells and other related water facilities insuring proper water quality and
operation and of the City’s water supply.

Sufficient education, training and/or experience to demonstrate possession of
the following knowledge, skills, and abilities which would typically be acquired
through:

 * High School Graduate or GED

 * Two years experience in related field

Special Requirements:

 * Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Department of Transportation

 * A Grade D3 Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the State of
   California

 * Will be required to meet Department of Health continuing education credits to
   maintain proper certification

 * Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license with hazardous
   materials endorsement

 * Will be required to work on-call weekends, extended hours, and holidays as
   assigned or required

 * Color vision for color comparison chemical tests

 * Ability to wear OSHA approved respiratory equipment and breathing apparatus



UTILITIES WATER OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR


$156,208.00 - $208,270.40 ANNUALLY

This position will monitor and maintain five receiving stations, seven
reservoirs, eight wells and six regulation stations through our SCADA system and
manage various maintenance programs. The candidate will be reliable, adaptable,
and diligent, always working towards set goals and priorities of the Utilities,
Water, Gas and Wastewater Division.

Sufficient education, training and/or experience to demonstrate possession of
the following knowledge, skills, and abilities which would typically be acquired
through:

 * High School Graduate or GED

 * Ten years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education
   and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the
   job

Licensing Requirements:

 * Water Distribution Grade 5 Certification

 * Water Treatment Grade 2 Certification

 * Valid California Driver's License



ALTERNATIVE WORK SCHEDULE

Many employees adhere to a 9/80 work schedule resulting in a 4-day work week
every other week.




PAID PARENTAL LEAVE
