I do have an online account at Comerica. I can download txns from Citibank, so my network connection is OK. I just logged into my Comerica account via the web, so I know Comerica is alive. Here's the message from MD: The given customer ID or PIN is not valid ... Signon (for example, user ID or password) invalid. I called Comerica to see if I could get the OFX data to make a manual connection. The support person asked what software I was using, consulted other people, and came back with "we only support Money and Quicken". Is there a log of the OFX messages between MD and the bank? Maybe I could at least see what URL MD is using, etc. 1. 1 Posted by Jessica Little on Apr 17, 2010 @ 06:06 PM Hi, Many financial institutions will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking. You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for connections from Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that they do not support Moneydance. Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service." Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance! Today I called Comerica and asked about connecting with Quicken. Comerica charges $11/month for the privilege. Grrrr. Bill * Edit 3. 3 Posted by Jessica Little on Apr 20, 2010 @ 02:59 PM Hi Bill, Yeah, unfortunately many, many banks charge to allow to you do direct connections. Luckily, if they offer OFX, QFX, OFC, or QIF transaction downloads, you can just download a file from their website and import it into Moneydance for free. A little more work, but it's cheaper than paying them $11 a month! Jessica Little Moneydance Support * Edit 4. Angie Rauscher closed this discussion on Jul 24, 2011 @ 07:45 PM.
