A WORD FROM YOUR HOST

Hi, I’m Sarah! I am a SAHM to two littles and have always had a passion for
supporting women-owned businesses, especially ones run by mothers. The balance
it takes to successfully run a business, home and all the lives that moms are
responsible for is a remarkable skill. Today more than ever, there are more and
more moms starting their own businesses in order to support their families and
still be present. I want to get to know’s these women better, help support their
businesses and share their secrets of success with other women. We are going to
talk about all the things and I am sure to get totally off-topic! But I want it
to be a fun space, and hope that we can encourage more women to just go out and
start that business!

Our product arose out of two personal needs. My son was diagnosed with eczema as
a toddler. When I applied his steroid cream with my fingers, I realized that I
was absorbing as much as he was (eventually triggering dermatitis), and I could
not effectively control the amount of product he was receiving. I also was
frustrated with how inefficient my fingers were for applying my own skincare
(especially oils and serums) and how much product was getting wasted through
absorption into my fingers/hands. I scoured the Internet for an application tool
to solve these problems, but there was none. So, I invented LUNAESCENT! With
redesigns, our applicator is now a multipurpose beauty tool — not only perfect
for any type of skincare application, but also for massaging, depuffing, washing
and more.

In my free time I like traveling, museums, architecture, learning new skills,
weightlifting, and eating healthy.

The Killer Hangover podcast is a mother daughter true crime / paranormal /
cocktail podcast. When Covid hit Beth Thompson and her mom were in different
places in life – Beth was stuck at home doing to day to day with two toddlers
and her mom had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. They both felt they
needed something to flex their brains and help them find themselves and get out
of the moment. Thus the Killer Hangover Podcast began.

It started as a hobby, but over time they have had families and people reach out
– the show will start with true crime, advocating and giving a voice to victims
– this can be heavy so the show is always ended with a paranormal story of some
kind to laugh or lighten things up!  A state is covered in each episode – for
example Maine – the show will then have a true crime from Main, a paranormal
from Main, and enjoy the hosts will enjoy a cocktail or “adult beverage” from
Main while sharing their stories. How fun!

Beth Thompson runs the Killer Hangover with her mother. She describes herself as
a very “50’s-Esq” mom – even with the podcast she LOVES to cook and clean and
provide for her three boys and their father in their  home! She also enjoys
doing crafts with her kids, travel and the beach.

Today, Codex Labs is committed to creating clinically proven, integrative
skin-gut-brain solutions that are microbiome friendly and contain biotech
plant-based actives. Our products are focused on restoring/protecting the skin
barrier, managing inflammation (think red bumps), and addressing troublesome
skin conditions associated with menopause, hormonal acne, eczema and psoriasis.
Our brand has been heralded by dermatologists for creating the next generation
of medical skincare that is effective, vegan, cruelty-free and sustainable:
dermo-cosmetics 2.0.

About Barbara:
Canadian-born of Czech parents and fluent in five languages with a Ph.D. from
Stanford University (U.S.), Dr. Barbara Paldus holds over 40 US patents and is a

vaccines like COVID-19, cancer therapeutics and cell therapy).

Nuvitru Wellness is a team of functional certified nutritionists + dietitians
that specifically focus on balancing women’s hormones, restoring gut health and
more through comprehensive lab testing and using food as medicine!!

Nuvitru started when Lahana was going to school to be a physicians assistant and
started to realize that the more conventional route of medicine wasn’t getting
to the ‘root cause’ and was more of just a bandaid to so many people’s symptoms
and chronic illnesses. She has a true passion for helping people flourish and
really understand their bodies so she pivoted her education to the more
functional side of wellness and from there, put a big focus on gut health +
hormones because they have such a huge affect on our overall health and she is
always trying to empower people to understand their bodies and take back control
of their health, which is where Nuvitru came into the picture!

Lahana Vigliano is the CEO of Nuvitru Wellness and a board certified clinical
nutritionist. She holds a Bachelor of Nutrition Science degree as well as her
Masters of Human Nutrition + Functional Medicine. She is passionate about
women’s health, especially gut health + hormones! She is obsessed with natural
remedies, research, reading, weight lifting, and cooking. Outside of work, she
is a mother of two and wife. Her family is the inspiration behind Nuvitru and
continues to encourage her through everything.

Row House is a national boutique fitness franchise. We deliver instructor-lead
rowing-based group fitness classes. What makes rowing so special at Row House is
that we are able to deliver high-energy music-driven group classes that combine
rowing intervals with floor-based strength exercises for all fitness levels so
there is always a place for you in our boat. We feed off of each other’s energy
and pull together to push to new levels.

The Row House concept began in NYC in 2014 by our amazing founders Debra & Eric
who had a vision for revolutionizing the way people view indoor rowing and
designing a workout that people of all different fitness levels could benefit
from together.

I was fortunate enough to come across Row House in my search to open a boutique
fitness franchise. I purchased 3 licenses and opened the first Row House in
Northern California in Belmont in 2018. I now own two Row House studios in the
bay area with my other location in Santa Clara.

About Jennifer:
I love to play lots of different sports because I love to move my body and
always enjoy being outdoors. My absolute favorite sport is downhill skiing but I
am currently jumping on the pickleball train. I have 6 kids who are mostly grown
and are scattered across the country pursuing their education or their dreams. I
spend much of my time working on growing and managing my business and am looking
forward to what I hope to be our first full year without the impact of COVID_19.
