While Rwanda has made significant progress in promoting gender equality, disparities still exist. Gender based violence (GBV), limited control of household decision making, and gender poverty gaps are some of the key concerns regarding gender. Among root causes are negative cultural and traditional norms that stand in the way of women’s empowerment. Therefore, gender promotion efforts need to be multifaceted to include advocacy through increased equal rights, combating discriminatory practices and behavioral change communication to transform mindsets. The following objectives will help TA to increase gender promotion. Objective 1: By 2030, equal distribution of household responsibilities has improved among at least 3000 households in TA’s operation areas. Objective 2: By 2030, children of 9 schools (9 & 12-year basic education) under TA operation area are empowered to challenge patriarchal systems, negative culture believes and harmful social norms that prevent gender promotion. Objective 3: By 2030, 400 young women in TA’s operation areas are empowered in technical, vocational, entrepreneurship skills and will be supported to become self-reliant. Objective 4: Instances of violence against women and girls (VAWG) is reduced in TA’s operation areas.
