i cannot imagine this will work out at all. last time a regent appointed their
pet to a high ranking position they got the stabby, and there's no way whoever
wanting pinky there to vanish is gonna take this well.

They're Space Romans. It's never going to work out in the long run, for a
sufficiently time-dilated definition of "long".

Proposing citizenship for an *uncountable hivemind* seems likely to provoke
*different* internal tensions to making your horse Incitatus a senator/priest...
it'll get stabby *anyway*, but hopefully this collapse will be more
entertaining!

that was exactly what i thought off when they talked about esclating access
rights beyond axiom's with that hidden process.

Nothing quite like a "young dissident defeats empire by making them do the stuff
they say they believe in" plot. Reminds me of How to Train Your Dragon a little
bit.
