DECREASE IN SHOPLY AFTER BIRTH CONTROL!!

Dr put me on birth control while breastfeeding

Baby having weight issues along with a sudden DECREASE in milk supply, period
started last week, so I started the sugar pills then came Monday this week which
was the start of the tablets that contain the hormone & ever since Monday I have
noticed a very big drop in my supply. I am an over producer so I was very
shocked and didnt understand why this was happening.

Baby was also fussing at the boob, a tiny bit would come out when hand
expressed. Did I fuck up my supply? I will be stopping the tablets because that
Dr got me fucked up!

Will my supply come back? Will it ever return to normal? I’m eating lactation
cookies, drinking heaps of water in hopes it comes back and will be demanding
the dr to give me SOMETHING to help my supply

Anyone been through this? Help me please

Decrease in shoply after birth control!!

Mini pill, implant/Nexplanon, and IUD are generally the only forms of birth
control that are progesterone only and shouldn't affect your supply. Your
cycles are going to be effed up while you adjust after this snafu but supply can
come back if you keep up nursing. I wouldnt add extra pumping in if you
generally have an over supply.

Do you have a pump? Pump every 2 hours for 15 minutes each. Do this for a week
and you should see the increase you want. You’ll even have to jump in the night.

Great! You’re already off to great start!! This happened to me, and I pumped
every two hours for 15 minutes each side (30min total) and within a week I was
making enough to feed baby and store extra in the freezer.

Which birth control did they put you on? Because you can’t have the combination
pill if you are breastfeeding.

I told the dr I want to KEEP my supply & to give me something that wouldn’t
ruin my supply. She did the total opposite! I live in Australia so I can’t just
sue her for gods sake I am so angry at these doctors

He was nursing all night last night and I have woken up somewhat engorged which
hasn’t happened the last two days! Baby knows something is up poor thing. He’s
still got wet and soiled nappies so the supply I have currently is JUST enough

That’s the combination pill! I was on that before I had my children. Absolutely
the worst thing to be on when breast feeding. You need a progesterone only
pill!!!

It will return. You can only take the mini pill while breastfeeding. And you
have to take it perfectly. It’s supply and demand. The more you stimulate your
breast, the more you make.
