TĀKINA CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION CENTRE

Tākina was created to attract international and domestic conferences and
exhibitions to Wellington, and to provide a place from which to share the
stories of the nation.


TE ARO MAHANA PLAYSPACE AT FRANK KITTS PARK

The new Te Aro Mahana playspace and Whetuu Maarama waka are open for play and
discovery at Frank Kitts Park on the waterfront.

TE MATAPIHI KI TE AO NUI CONSTRUCTION: ONE YEAR TO GO

The strengthening and modernising of the central library Te Matapihi ki te Ao
Nui started in December 2022. Construction is planned for completion by the end
of August 2025, followed by the fit-out phase, ahead of the public opening in
early 2026. Find out more about where we are at with construction, with one year
to go.
