WHY KIDNEY TRANSPLANT SUPPORT WAS CREATED

Our journey at Kidney Transplant Support is not just about building a platform;
it’s a personal mission that is a lived experience and a deep desire to serve
those in need within our community.

A PERSONAL JOURNEY

Having received two kidney transplants myself, I have firsthand experience with
the difficult obstacles and psychological suffering that accompany kidney
illness. The road to a transplant in Pakistan is complicated by both cultural
and legal limitations: there is no culture of deceased donors, and only family
members may receive transplants. These limitations reduce possibilities and
increase the misery of several patients who are unable to locate suitable
donors.

A NEW HOPE WITH SWAP TRANSPLANTS

The recent approval of swap transplants by PHOTA (Punjab Human Organ
Transplantation Authority) opened a new avenue for patients like us. However,
the lack of awareness and accessible platforms to facilitate such exchanges
meant that many continued to suffer in silence and wait.

Motivated by my own experiences and the urgent need for solutions, I founded
Kidney Transplant Support. The goal was to create a lifeline for those feeling
helpless in their search for a donor. By leveraging technology and building a
supportive community, we aim to connect people for swap transplants, thereby
increasing their chances of finding compatible matches quickly and efficiently.
