Ways to work with us SPECIAL ISSUE: DIGITAL FASHION Welcome to the second issue of XR Bazaar Magazine. This month, we’re tackling Digital Fashion as our main theme, exploring the overall phenomenon, recent exciting projects, top players and current trends. Fashion is the art for everyday and for everyone, just like technology. Even if you don’t care for it, you have no choice but to use it – unless you’re going for The Emperor's New Clothes. No wonder it was just a matter of time for the fashion industry to embrace the possibilities of extended reality. Starting from a couple of business incentives, like the gamer population accounting for over 3 billion people worldwide and digital native Gen Z’ers stepping into the market, the fashion industry is one that could not ignore the obvious trends. Hopefully, digital fashion will stand for more than just new business opportunities. With 3D modeling, AR, VR and MR developing and becoming more popular, we want to see this technology and fashion mix to allow this sector to innovate into a more sustainable, less wasteful direction. To celebrate this hope and the already existing innovation, we collaborated with some of the most talented creators and XR studios to showcase their stunning designs in a dreamlike floating runway created in Spatial. Designs from Kamala Atak, Allan Berger, FFFACE.ME Studio, and Rory Scott are now available to explore in this surreal Designs from Kamala Atak, Allan Berger, FFFACE.ME Studio, and Rory Scott are now available to explore in this surreal world, each of them representing a unique, inspiring philosophy. world, each of them representing a unique, inspiring philosophy. What we wear often shows the way we think about ourselves. Whether it’s a new trend or quite the opposite – an original statement of our uniqueness – clothes are a part of us. It was only a matter of time before digital fashion became as significant as it is in the real world. Fashion is and always has been one of the most significant forms of self-expression. What we wear often shows the way we think about ourselves. Whether it’s a new trend or quite the opposite – an original statement of our uniqueness – clothes are a part of us. It was only a matter of time before digital fashion became as significant as it is in the real world. Development of technology allowed us to experience fashion in ways we couldn’t imagine before. We are designing online versions of ourselves in various forms, creating the person we want to be, or creating an avatar reflecting the real us. Digital fashion is gaining popularity as quickly as it is evolving. That’s why we want to keep you up to date with the latest trends and show you why and how the fashion industry is a perfect match for Extended Reality. IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL FASHION We can look at the phenomenon of digital fashion from two sides: as a resource for users to express themselves, and as a tool for brands to support their e-commerce ventures. But why is it happening? We are spending more and more time online, creating profiles and personalising our digital avatars as we see fit. The most popular and practical version of this process is visible in gaming. According to Roblox’s “2022 Metaverse Fashion Trend Report”, over half of the respondents are changing their avatar’s clothing at least once a week. The study also showed a significant relationship between real-life trends and their digital image: * 70% of respondents confirm that their avatar’s style is a reflection of their real one. * Three out of four respondents said they will spend money on digital fashion, with one out of four already having spent between $20 to over $100 on a single virtual item. WHERE TO WEAR DIGITAL CLOTHES? With all of its many features, Digital fashion really is ‘one size fits all’. The possibility of adjusting it to the specific needs of every customer is just one of the reasons why it is so successful. We can see virtual clothing as an important factor in almost every social space of the online world. For example, let’s look at the video games industry. The visual aspect, along with the customization of the characters, was always an important factor, but now it seems to be growing in popularity, according to Roblox’s survey. To showcase their products, retailers and fashion houses often collaborate with platforms like Minecraft, Decentraland, Sandbox and Roblox. We already mentioned the collaboration between Burberry and Minecraft, but the most important part of this partnership was providing the players with a special set of skins. Users could dress up their characters in the luxury brand’s clothing pieces that were available in real life, but more accessible to them in the digital world. The same thing is happening with Roblox, which has already housed virtual collections from the biggest brands like Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, and Givenchy. Aside from gaming, another popular way to introduce digital fashion is through AR-powered dedicated apps, such as DRESSX or ZERO10. Such solutions are catching a lot of attention, especially because they often focus on the virtual image only, without producing physical pieces, but transforming digital clothes into NFTs. They also support retailers in boosting e-commerce sales, and improving the in-store experiences for the customers by adding virtual features like AR mirrors. Last but not least – everyone’s favorite – social media. Through platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok we can interact with products before purchasing them, try them on or simply have fun exploring fashionable AR experiences. It’s a fun experience for the customer, which also gives the brand additional exposure by people sharing the effects all over the social media. MAKING SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EASIER We all know that technology is changing the shopping experience, but AR development pushed it even further. The try-on feature stole the hearts of both brands and customers. Why is that? PROS FOR CUSTOMERS: * Try before you buy without leaving the house; * Possibility to make a purchase almost straight from the experience; * Less returns. PROS FOR BRANDS: * Higher conversion rate; * Higher reach thanks to AR experience being shared more willingly than any other branded content; * Less returns. And much more! For additional information, watch the speech of Carolina Arguelles - the Global Head of AR Product Strategy at Snap Inc. ACCESSIBLE. INCLUSIVE. SUSTAINABLE. The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of the world's carbon emissions, not to mention tons of water needed to produce each and every piece of clothing. Over 85% of all products are being thrown away, still not being able to meet, among others, sizing norms. Such a vast world needs a revolution and breaking fashion boundaries is what AR technology does best. With digital fashion, retailers can limit negative output the industry has on the environment, without cutting out on diversity and let’s face it - their profits. It doesn’t require physical resources and there’s no issue of overproduction. Clothes can be easily fitted into an avatar or a real person, when we think about the AR try-on feature. Virtual fashion shows, metaverse catwalks, 360° showrooms – all accessible for everyone – including high fashion! All the outfits can go straight from the runway to a customer or – from the store shelf to your room – thanks to AR. MAKING SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EASIER It’s all about personalization - you’re creating your own Sim, getting a new skin in Fortnite, or collecting new armour in RPG games like Skyrim or The Witcher - your character has to somehow reflect ‘you’. Everyone in the video games market knows it already: let’s just look at the brand-new Hogwarts Legacy, which quickly became a worldwide success. With developers' knowledge about the importance of styling the characters, the majority of quest’s rewards are various types of clothing. The best thing about it, however, is that the players can easily personalise them, change styles, or even hide some of the elements if we don’t like how they look while at the same time keep the statistics they provide. One of the most important things for the younger generations is self-expression, and with the amount of time they spend playing video games, it’s not limited to the physical world only. In the 2022 survey, Roblox points out that 95% of players customise their character at least a bit, and 47% believe personalization of their avatars is a way to express individuality. While Millennials are often the ones distancing themselves from the online world, Gen Z is called the digital natives, spending lots of time online in the video games realm. With that in mind, it only makes sense to ‘speak the customer’s language’, especially when they reach the age in which they become a significant part of the market. WHERE’S THE POTENTIAL FOR RETAILERS IN ALL OF THAT? Every piece of clothing already designed digitally can be easily transferred into the game, and that’s why brands see it as a way to increase sales. It turns out that 66% of Roblox players stated that they are excited to use brand name clothing on their avatars, with 27% of users that already spent over $100 on a single virtual clothing item. Those statistics were confirmed also by Epic, having earned around $50 million just by introducing a collection of Fortnite skins. And while it may seem like more retailers are noticing the potential just now, we can track it back to the late 2000s, when The Sims 2: H&M Fashion Stuff premiered. Even then we were excited to get a virtual image of IRL clothing that we could use in the creation of our own world. Over a decade later H&M collaborated with Roblox on a unique metaverse experience called Looptopia, which took a step further than just providing players with additional items. In this experience, users are able to create their own fashion pieces, interact with other designers, take part in fun mini games, attend styling sessions, and travel to new worlds and educational events. “People who shop and wear H&M garments and accessories are increasingly spending time in virtual spaces and digital worlds. In the coming years, H&M will continue to explore this fast-growing expanse of virtual and augmented realities” - says Linda Li, Head of Customer and Marketing at H&M Americas. New technologies carry a great set of tools for users to express themselves, but also ways to make shopping more accessible and fun. Other than that, getting involved in spaces where young people - and potential customers - spend more time socialising, enhances the exposure of the brand, and creates a good impression of the retailer. It’s certainly one of the biggest potentials that virtual clothing has to offer. Right now the biggest brands are constantly emphasising the correlation between technology and fashion in every form. Perhaps more companies will invest in AR try-on features, whether it’s the in-store mirror, or social media filters. Maybe some will focus on creating fully digital collections? To be honest – the opportunities are endless. The only limits digital fashion can face are technical ones, which are constantly evolving. In the next few years we’ll most likely come across features we can’t even possibly imagine now, so it’s hard to predict the exact direction designers will take. But with the growing trend of expressing ourselves through digital spaces, and with that - virtual clothes - we can be sure that we will see much more of it in the future. My typical workday usually starts by checking my calendar to see if there are any meetings scheduled that day and checking the schedules of ongoing projects. Then I grab a coffee and check email and messages. The rest of the day is very different. When communicating with clients via email or video calls, I usually try to chop my day into time slots so I can actively work on client projects and side projects. Every day, I also try to play a little with new technologies and explore something new - even if I can only spend a few minutes on it. This can happen at any time of the day. What is your MUST before you start working on a new digital fashion project? To be honest, I don't have a "must do" before working on a new project. But in terms of design and creation, I try to create something that comes from nature or inspires me, which can literally be anything - from a photo, a movie or something random while walking through the streets of Vienna or traveling. I usually sketch out ideas on paper first, sometimes on the iPad in ProCreate, before getting into the digital aspect of design. I also do a lot of research on color palettes, patterns, landscapes and storytelling. From there, I try to focus on what speaks to me. Ideally, with each new project, I introduce features or use techniques or technologies that I haven't used before. Something where I learn something new. These tools offer a range of capabilities for creating different types of effects, and I am constantly learning new techniques and approaches to improve my skills. That can be a blocker sometimes, but that's what I enjoy the most and what gives me a drive. What kind of hardware are you working on, and which software are you using the most? I switch back and forth between a 14-inch MacBook Pro M1 Max and a Power PC with an ASUS Rog Strix GeForce RTX 3090 on a 27-inch Studio Display. As for software, I mainly use Blender, Meta Spark Studio, Lens Studio and Unreal Engine. Your AR agency is full of outstanding campaigns for worldwide brands. How do you acquire new clients? Surprisingly, many leads have also found us through Google search. Opportunities also often come from partnerships with agencies and working with friends in the industry. We've also had a lot of success with referrals from satisfied clients. Often, someone has also seen the work we've done for clients on social media. In this regard, we are very grateful and appreciate that most brands approach us on their own accord. Do you have a defined workflow when working with clients, or is it client-dependent? Yes, we do have a defined workflow when working with clients. We always take the time to research the company or brand we’re working with. Then we start by having an initial consultation to discuss the project in detail and get a better understanding of their vision, goals and most importantly their target audience. We also look at their current branding so we can create a cohesive design and experience that is tailored to the client's aesthetic and desires. We then create a proposal outlining the project timeline, deliverables, and cost. After that, we create a few design concepts and present them to the client for feedback. Once the design is approved, we move into the production phase. What % of your time goes to client meetings, writing emails, and calls? About 25% of my time goes to client meetings, writing emails, and calls. This time includes both new client acquisition and ongoing communication with current clients. It's important to me to have clear and consistent communication with my clients at each checkpoint of the timeline we’ve provided and throughout the entire process to ensure that their needs are being met and that they are happy with the final product. That being said, I also make sure to schedule my time efficiently so that I have enough time for both client communication and actual work. It is also important to me that my team or project partner is happy with their work and schedule. This includes checking in with them regularly to ensure that they have the resources and support they need to complete their tasks, as well as making sure that their workload is manageable. I believe that a happy and motivated team is essential for the success of any project, and I make it a priority to foster a positive and collaborative work environment. What stage of designing a digital fashion piece is your favorite - and what is the trickiest? My favorite stage of designing a digital fashion piece is creating the initial concept. I love the process of researching and exploring new ideas. The trickiest part is definitely the production phase, as there are a lot of steps and details to make sure everything is ready for delivery. Let’s face it – sometimes it’s really hard to get to work. Do you have any methods or tips to motivate yourself as a freelancer, especially in such a dynamic fashion environment? Whenever I'm having trouble getting motivated, I like to take a break and do something totally unrelated to work. I usually go for a bicycle ride, a run, a swim or simply for a walk. This helps to clear my mind and get inspired. Personally, I find that to-do lists don't help with motivation because they tend to get longer and longer and things get lost in them, which can sometimes be overwhelming and discouraging. However, I still find them useful to give me an overview of the things I want to get done and I have a list of my goals and tasks for the day. I always question why I'm putting a particular item on the list, and if it's not essential or doesn't align with my goals, I try to rethink whether it's necessary. Ultimately, I think a balance between structure and flexibility is key to staying motivated and productive as a creative. To get a better overview, I sometimes find it helpful to take a step back and look at some of my past work to reflect and reorient myself and determine the direction I want to take in the future. ZERO10 AR Fashion Platform is a digital fashion hub where designers, brands, and users will be able to create and wear virtual clothes in augmented reality. Through the platform, ZERO10 aims to create a place to display the best in digital fashion and make virtual clothing wearable in real life through their proprietary AR technology, bridging the gap between the physical and digital worlds of fashion. Anton Grigoriev, Head of 3D at ZERO10 You’re working closely with Designers and Creators everyday, seeing their talent grow and be showcased to the world. What do you think are the biggest benefits of using a digital fashion platform for art and recognition? I think digital fashion platforms open up various possibilities for collaboration, making connections and partnerships between designers. Another important benefit is pushing boundaries of creation. Digital tools and technology allow designers and creators to experiment with patterns, textures, colors and other design elements, breaking new grounds in self-expression and creativity. You’ve recently launched the Open Platform - could you let us in on its opportunities and coolest features? What does it take to join it? Before launching the ZERO10 AR Fashion Platform last October, we created an Open call competition to see the response from the creators community. At the start of this project, we couldn’t imagine receiving so many unique designs from digital fashion creators: 521 creators and designers registered for the competition and 259 digital garments were submitted within 3 weeks. We received so many requests to continue this initiative on a regular basis to give more creators the possibility to be showcased in the ZERO10 app and wear their collections through augmented reality. That’s why we decided to continue using our capabilities to contribute to the growth of the digital creator community and of driving digital fashion. Now, every creator is able to submit their designs on the platform and as soon as our 3D team converts the digital garments into AR wearables, the designs become available in the app for real-time try on. Since the launch, we already have a library of 300 unique AR pieces presented in the app, most of them are free to try on and create content with. However, we can see that apart from the practical purpose, the possibility to monetize their creations is also important to creators. In response to our community, we started testing different monetization approaches together with the creators to find the best way for their revenue stream. By collaborating with talented designers who submit their applications to our platform, we can tap into a diverse range of perspectives and ideas. This helps us stay ahead of the curve and create innovative solutions that meet the evolving demands of the design industry. The designers who apply to our platform not only bring their unique skills and ideas, but they also become an integral part of our community. We value their contributions and are committed to supporting their growth and success as they help us shape the future of design. We’d love to get to know more about your artists! Would you say that most of them are deeply rooted in fashion from the beginning or are they rookies who were inspired by digital fashion? It's really a combination of traditional fashion designers coming to the digital space and 3D artists that already have the technical skills to create virtual items but have no knowledge or experience of traditional fashion. They are learning from each other and forming a collaborative community of a new generation of designers. We also see the increasing interest from our users to become co-creators and be a part of the platform, thus we just launched the new Generative pack. Using in-app controllers and user-friendly interface, users can experiment right inside the ZERO10 app without limit, changing the selected designs to their liking, creating unique variations, and trying them on in AR straightaway. Do you see any tendencies or trends in style or aesthetic within your Community? Fair to say that all the designs are authentic and unique. From the start, we noticed that most of the designs are futuristic and fantasy related, which are far from being realistic. The absence of these garments in the physical world makes these pieces more desirable to try on through augmented reality with the intent on making them real somehow. That proves that digital and physical items are completely different, with 3D garments being more art than clothing. We definitely can see a push for organic shapes and metallic materials but overall we have a great variety of styles and themes from all over the world. Our top trending item has been from our Gaming collection and we can see how creators are thinking of ways to create video-game skins with a mix of traditional fashion. How has the rise of digital fashion platforms changed marketing and influencer culture? Do you think that we’re leaning more towards the era of Creators, rather than influencers? The rise of digital fashion platforms has had a significant impact on marketing and influencer culture. We have witnessed a shift towards the era of Creators, rather than traditional influencers. In today's digital landscape, Creators are becoming opinion leaders and driving the popularity of virtual fashion. We actively collaborate with Creators who are not only designers, creating unique items, but also opinion leaders who try our latest features and collections to share their experiences with the community, fostering a sense of excitement and anticipation for new digital fashion trends. We actively collaborate with Creators who are not only designers, creating unique items, but also opinion leaders who try our latest features and collections to share their experiences with the community, fostering a sense of excitement and anticipation for new digital fashion trends. Recently we collaborated with Stephy Fung, a digital fashion artist, educator, content creator and a friend of ZERO10, for NFT Paris, where Stephy showcased her digital fashion outfit created for the event, enabling the guests to try it on in AR with the help of ZERO10. Similarly, our work with Andrea Albrizio for his fashion show exemplifies how Creators are emerging as influencers in the digital fashion sphere. There is a growing trend of blurring the lines between Creators and influencers as we traditionally understand them. This shift is evident in the digital fashion world as Creators are now responsible for driving trends, influencing public opinions, and popularizing new ideas. As the digital fashion industry continues to evolve, we can expect the role of Creators to become even more central to marketing strategies and community building. What is the future of digital fashion? Does ZERO10 have any plans? Zero10 has big plans for the future of digital fashion. We are committed to simplifying the tools for creativity and item creation, adding the latest AI approaches, and incorporating new features that influence all the human senses. Our team recognizes that the fashion industry is evolving rapidly and that digital fashion is the future. We are dedicated to staying ahead of the curve and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the digital fashion space. To achieve this, we are constantly working to improve our platform and provide our users with the most cutting-edge tools and features. One of our primary goals is to simplify the process of creating digital fashion products. We understand that the process can be complex and time-consuming, which is why we are working to streamline our tools and make them more intuitive and user-friendly. In addition, we are adding the latest AI approaches to our platform, including machine learning and computer vision technologies. This will allow our users to take advantage of advanced algorithms to enhance their designs and make them even more compelling. Finally, we are incorporating new features that influence all the senses, not just visual. We believe that digital fashion has the potential to be a truly immersive and interactive experience, and we are working to make this a reality. We’re seeing so many opportunities in digital fashion. The idea is that Code Couture will exist on the blockchain, meaning that if you own a piece, you could wear it in many different ways within the metaverse. Code Couture is a digital fashion initiative rethinking how we create and consume new digital expression. We want to democratize the creation process of digital fashion, making it accessible to anyone on the internet. What was the idea behind creating the platform? The idea for Code Couture really lies into the fact that not everyone has the technical knowledge to create digital fashion. We want to democratize the creation process to a point where no technical knowledge is necessary for anyone to create a jaw-dropping piece of iconic digital fashion. The distinctive look that Code Couture garments have is very hard to obtain using more traditional techniques, making it very recognizable. By leveraging code we’re able to generate endless possibilities, making each garment truly one-of-a-kind and adding to the excitement and novelty of the digital fashion space. How does Code Couture work? What technologies does it use? We are using GLSL programming language and specifically, a process called "ray-marching," which leverages code-driven shaders We are using GLSL programming language and specifically, a process called "ray-marching," which leverages code-driven shaders and customisable parameters. This allows you to harness the power of code in an intuitive way, without having to code yourself. At the moment the Code Couture platform exists as an online editor. On the right side you can find a user interface where you can change the parameters to alter the garment however you like. When the parameters are changed, it essentially changes the code that is created to display the garment, altering the garment directly as you change the levers in the interface. How did you launch Code Couture? The experience has already been exhibited at “Screenwear” - Design Museum Den Bosch in the Netherlands. The Code Couture Installation comes with an iPad (where you can design your own garment) and a big screen (where you can view 45 pre-selected designs). Furthermore we partnered with DRESSX to bring Code Couture to the world of AR wearables. The collaboration entails a community challenge, where for the very first time, anyone can enter the Code Couture Studio website and create their own garment. They may then submit their design on Twitter with the hashtag #ccgenesis to be entered to win their own design being converted into a wearable NFT. Over 1250 people used the Code Couture x Dressx Editor, which resulted in over 150 submissions to the challenge. The winners received their own unique design as an AR wearable on the Dressx platform. We were also honored to show one of our designs as a wearable at MVFW! Together with 12 other renowned digital fashion designers we were invited to show Code Couture at the MAD Global exhibition in Spatial. Code Couture Editor We were also honored to show one of our designs as a wearable at MVFW! Together with 12 other renowned digital fashion designers we were invited to show Code Couture at the MAD Global exhibition in Spatial. What was the community’s response to Code Couture? The reactions to what we’re building are overwhelmingly positive. I believe this has partly to do with the fact that we are prioritizing uniqueness, individuality and artistic expression for our users. But it’s too early to have tangible results because we are truly just beginning! Since Code Couture is a web3 native fashion brand, there are a lot of things that are new, even for our own team. It’s amazing to be able to navigate the space receiving advice and tips from industry leaders due to the sharing culture. Where did the idea of creating Code Couture come from? Code Couture is born out of a collaboration between 3 digital artists. Lucas Guzman - 3D/AI/Generalist/Digital Blacksmith Martijn Steinrucken - Creative Technologist/The Art of Code Isabelle Udo - Creative Director/Technologist/videOrbit Studio. Together we saw a unique opportunity that neither of us could be able to act upon alone. Collaboration is the key in the new digital world and we are all in for it! The very core of Code Couture is based upon the idea that collaboration is key in this rapidly evolving digital landscape. By sharing our tools with others, we’re discovering techniques and uses we never even thought of. Community is extremely important for us. Furthermore, as we’re continuing to evolve and iterate the platform, we’re very open for any new collaborations, whether it be with artists, web3 brands or more traditional fashion brands. What are the next steps for Code Couture? Code Couture will continue to evolve and grow. As we proceed with iterating the platform, our key future developments and vision for Code Couture will involve several areas: Platform improvements * Personalized user accounts * Saves creations and digital wardrobe * Blockchain integration for functional NFTs * Community features: likes, comments, sharing Features improvements * Advanced design options for more endless possibilities * Inclusive body type selections * Different “type” of mesh-patterns * Integration of AI powered style recommendations Expand Accessibility * Seamless integration with popular virtual platforms * Available as AR wearable items Collaboration * Collaborate with graphic designers on custom textures * Partner with established fashion brands for exclusive digital collections. * Invite artists to co-create limited-edition garments. Our vision is to create a distinct Code Couture signature, where each design becomes a statement of its own. And how could it be anything else, with all of the adventures you’re getting yourself into? So, while we’re approaching those hot, summer days, the stars suggest you to invest in… athleisure. Put your money (literally) on plain pieces in bold colors, that you can easily mix. Remember, quality over quantity! It’s also a good time to check if you have all of the needed accessories. Hats? Backpacks? Aesthetic water bottles? Make sure you have everything you need for the summer! If anyone can connect being stylish and comfy, it would be you. Hiking, jogging, swimming, or just exploring new cities – sportswear is the answer for you, even if you don’t feel like it yet. Yes, we know that you feel tempted to overdress, but trust us on this one. And if you will be really stubborn, as we all know you will, at least remember to wear shorts under those sundresses. Thank us later. Taurus Dear Taurus, your fashion sense is undeniable, but we have some bad news - it's time to bid adieu to your outdated wardrobe... We know you hold sentimental value to your old clothes, but it's time to let go of the "I need this" or "It'll come in handy someday" mindset! Embrace the practicality you love, but refresh your looks by getting rid of items that have served their time. Instead, focus on accessories to add that perfect accent to your outfits. Or maybe it's time to look in the direction of NFT apparel? Trust us, you'll be amazed by the new combinations you create. We assure you it's time to update your style and elevate your aesthetic game! Gemini Mercury’s retrograde is like a personal Met Gala for you, as it is your ruling planet. Each time it’s something controversial, but interesting for sure. And since it’s ending on May 14th… well… We can guess how exhausted you are! But it’s also a great way to express yourself. As your sign represents duality, there are two sides of you: one with a motto of “Dress to impress” and the other one that wants to be comfortable even if it means running errands in sweats from two days ago. Both are fine! The balance is key, and there’s nothing wrong with taking off the pressure from your shoulders. Especially after the intense time of lunar eclipse and Mercury’s retrograde – we advise you to take it easy. Recharge, clean up your closet and start the summer season with style. Cancer Cancer, so practical and sensitive, you are definitely prone to comfortable yet quality clothing. You know what you want, what style you like, you are not one of those who go to stylists or follow fashion trends - you know what your ideal outfit is. When you get up in the morning, you don't have to rifle through your closet because you ALREADY have an idea of what will suit your mood and keep you comfortable throughout the day! Despite your confidence and stability in your wardrobe preferences, your image is definitely characterized by fantasy and ideology - is that not something we all need to learn from? Layering also allows you to express your creative side, as you can mix and match different textures and colors to create an unrepeatable look. Let's admit it, you have nothing to change - stay in your harmony and continue to delight us with your exquisite stylish choices! Leo Next few weeks might become crucial for you career-wise, so we’d advise you to go for a smart-casual shopping maraton. Who said work style has to be boring? Definitely not for someone as passionate as you! The energy you bring while entering the room is enough to make other people notice you, but a cute outfit won’t harm anyone! You can make everything work: from dresses and suits to sneakers with a blazer. So, dress-up and go rock that meeting looking your best! We sense a raise coming for you… Which, let’s be honest, is crucial for the upcoming clothing expenses… But it will be worth it, we promise! You can always try thrifting – good for your wallet and the planet! Our personal advice? Don’t underestimate accessories! They can make all the difference. Virgo Oh, our Virgo, a lover of beauty and class, but also the value of comfort and practicality in outfits. You never know when the moment will strike for an impromptu dance party or spontaneous hike - and you need to be ready to move and groove at a moment's notice. But we have a proposal for you - why not mix things up a bit and go for a more luxurious and refined look? Let those dresses which have been collecting dust on their hangers see the light of day and pair them with your most extravagant earrings (our dear male Virgos - try on a smoking ). Don't let the weather stop you, whether it’s rain or wind - let your grace run wild. Let your style be your wingman and soar to new heights! Libra We could tell you that class and elegance comes naturally to you, but we think that you already know that. There’s no reason why you should stop yourself from dressing up every day. After all, your sense of style is something to be admired. Someone tells you that you’re overdressed? Nope, they are just underdressed. Subtlety is your signature, but it doesn’t mean that you get lost in the crowd. But what’s the color palette that brings out the best in you? Blush pink and baby blue! Pair it with sage green or white, and you will have the most impressive outfit. Also, don’t be afraid of mixing patterns! As the most balanced sign this comes as a natural talent for you. Simply – you can't go wrong. Scorpio Hello there, our provocative, bold, and adventurous Scorpio. You surely know how to stand out from the crowd and show everyone who's the most extravagant around here. Your outfits are simply mind-blowing and sophisticated, they grant you power and make an impression! "Wow, where did you get that?" - you must hear that too often, don't you? And it's no problem for you to give up that "secret" because, between us, no one will come close to replicating your fabulous style. Your ingenuity with color combinations, with a daring emphasis on red - bold, yet irresistible! Make people turn their heads as they walk by. You need to shine! You're not one of those who bury themselves in the sand - you're an exclusively flamboyant Scorpio! Sagittarius Bold patterns and vibrant colors – that’s how the stars would describe your style. After all, it has to match your outgoing personality, right? You like to be in places, and your clothes are a statement of that. You need to wear something that supports your loud lifestyle, which is never boring – same as your clothes! You never overthink every detail of your outfit. Dressing up is a fun activity for you, that you decide on in the heart of the moment. And it works out well for you! You might feel a bit frustrated in the next few weeks due to the Taurus season, which tends to be more calm, but don’t let it take your spark away. Capricorn Your problem is not the lack of style, but rather its impeccability. By choosing minimalism and carefully combining items that are distinguished by the highest quality of tailoring and fabric composition, you undoubtedly look stylish, neat, and attractive. The restrained color palette doesn’t make you boring at all - the ability to make a subtle statement even with the simplest choices is your main privilege. But hold on, do you ever regret not dressing up, let's say, in a suit of purple ostrich? Oh, we're pretty sure, you did… So you need to venture forth and give it a go! Blossom with the spring! Your sense of clothing style won't disappear, just try to have some fun, and we promise, these experiments will not be in vain! Aquarius You entered May a bit exhausted, feeling Pluto’s energy more than any other sign, but that’s ok! After all, you’re never the one to be like everyone else, right? Everyone knows you’re the one who sets trends instead of following them. So, this time, we will let you decide. Will you put your money on light, boho vibe right before summer, or maybe classical elegance with neutral colors? No matter what you choose, we’re sure that the rest will follow. Your individuality is one of your best traits. You’re looking at the world around you and taking inspiration from it, putting it together in pieces that create the most wonderful outfits. Stay on those tracks! Our only advice? Don’t be mad when you see people copying your style! Because it will obviously happen. Wear your influence with pride! Pisces Perhaps your fashion horoscope is characterized in general by a few words - restraint, simplicity, and refinement. You love a kind of naive-romantic style, which is evident in the abundance of flowing fabrics, layered skirts and dresses, as well as blouses and tops with ruffles, embroidery, and frills. When it comes to male Pisces representatives, you also undoubtedly gravitate towards elegance and a somewhat strict allure. And you know what? It suits you like a charm! But let's break free from the norm and inject some rebellious flair into your look. Picture this: edgy belts, badass boots, and maybe even a tattoo or two... Yep, we're talking full-on gangster vibes! Embrace that street style and become a bona fide fashion maverick! Say goodbye to stuffy office shirts and trouser suits - they're just not your cup of tea right now. It's time to rock that bold and dARing style! Are you ready to take the plunge? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Page 10 horoscope -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THESE (DIGITAL) BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN’ Digital fashion is THE next big trend. Ditching traditional try-ons for cutting edge virtual apparel, enthusiasts of metaverse and digital creators are leading the way in this evolving technology. It's no wonder we're entering an era of mind-blowing collaborations from a growing number of brands - the days when you can't express your style with just one pair of shoes are gone. From AR and XR to VR, new technologies open up a world where sophisticated 3D art takes center stage. And yes, it was partly the pandemic that pushed us to reach this virtual level. Among this fashion-frenzy, footwear undeniably holds one of the top positions - and that’s on our radar today. Get ready to explore some iconic shoe-cases! THE LATEST! THE HOTTEST! Brands listened to the customers’ needs for transformation and individuality. Adidas lets customers virtually try on their sneakers through a feature in their app. Using a smartphone, the brand's mobile platform overlays a digital image of the new Alphaedge 4D sneaker, and the virtual version of the sneaker appears on the foot, tracking body movements to provide a 3D preview. A similar capability is offered by Nike through Lenses on Snapchat, where you can customize shoe models to your liking. One of the initial goals of such seemingly fun features is to better manage consumer expectations and reduce the number of returns. In addition, such development serves as an important part of the marketing strategy, enabling a deeper brand connection with its customers. The virtual environment allows Internet users to be engaged through immersive metaspaces, thereby reaching an even wider audience and inspiring NFT purchases while also pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Don't forget also that sneakers are one of the most popular items for collecting! Virtual models are also highly sought after by shoe enthusiasts, especially since they can often be traded for physical pairs. We couldn’t miss the well-known classic Air Force model that gained its popularity back in the distant 80s and may well continue to be an iconic model for the brand in the future. But it definitely couldn’t be left out when it comes to digital transformations. Here is an example: Murakami's signature art combined with cutting-edge RTFKT technology and Nike's legendary design. Virtual worlds like Roblox and Decentraland are becoming popular venues for interactive digital merchandising and in-game experiences. Get ready: the metaverse is here! DIGITAL FASHION IS THE NEW CONTEMPORARY ART! The digital playground is experiencing truly significant changes and technological explosions! There are no limits here - the digital sphere can coexist with the physical realm, which is well represented by phygital fashion, but what's interesting - it can also inspire the creation of something in reality. For example, the recently popularized Big Red Cartoon Boots by the New York-based art collective MSCHF, inspired by the character of the main protagonist in the Japanese manga Astro Boy, as well as the boots of the monkey character Boots from the animated series "Dora the Explorer". They represent nothing but a reverse action associated with the physical and the digital, and in a sense, a revolution of virtual imagination. @mschf - Big Red Boots Artificial Intelligence, which has recently undergone an incredible boost in its development, is also not lagging behind. FASHION FROM THE FRONT ROW: HOW VIRTUAL RUNWAYS ARE CHANGING THE INDUSTRY Could the metaverse become the next fashion capital? The industry is definitely going in this direction. Turns out you don’t have to visit Paris, Milan, or New York to experience high fashion first hand. And after the pandemic’s hit on the fashion market, it’s not a surprise that brands seek new opportunities, resistant to unpredictable situations. Fashion, as every other form of art, is constantly evolving and seeking new ways of portraying itself. It was only a matter of time before it became important in the digital world. Especially considering that Gen Z, which is known for spending most of their time online, reached the point of becoming potential customers for fashion brands. Fashion shows, even the virtual ones, are above all social events. Even if they are known for not being easy to attend, it’s still something that brought together the fashion community. And while switching to the digital version can seem like changing this narrative, it actually improved the way it’s viewed, making it more accessible to regular people, apart from only those who are professionally involved in the fashion industry. How is it reaching more people? One reason for that is the fact that the event can take place in free, virtual spaces accessible for everyone, from every place of the world. Jonathan Simkai, Digital Fashion Week New York Only requirement? Internet connection. The best example is Decentraland, which hosted not one, but two editions of metaverse fashion week. The first one took place in 2022, and turned out to be much more than just runways. The event featuring biggest brands like Dolce & Gabbana, or Tommy Hilfigher, designed unique spaces for players to enjoy virtual stores, NFT collections, and panels dedicated to digital fashion and e-commerce. Some brands, like the Fabricant, went even further. They decided to make the fashion show as accessible as possible, and invite attendees to design and submit their own versions of the brand's season 1 garments. Six of them were selected by vote and presented on the runway during fashion week. After the success of the event, it only made sense to expect another edition in 2023. Over 60 brands took part in the Metaverse Fashion Week 2023, and it was divided into two maps: Neo Plaza, in which most of the social life took place, and Luxury District with runway, red carpet and luxury brand market spaces and exhibitions. But even though this year’s event was more advanced than in 2022, the platform noted a significant decrease in users' attendance. That raised a question, whether the virtual world really has the potential to become an important fashion space. With such a significant decrease of attendance it was crucial for the brand to gain the interest of those users, who decided to make an appearance at the 2023 Metaverse fashion week. Sadly, the engagement of users didn’t reach an expected level. However, there was one brand that turned out to be a surprising exception. Average user spent around 14 minutes engaging with Ben Bridge, a luxury jewelry company. What the brand did differently was preparing gaming experiences for attendees, and it seems it was just what they expected from the virtual experience. Metaverse Fashion Week 2023, image: Decentraland So, considering how the biggest fashion event turned out to be, can we really think about metaverse as the future of the industry? It might be. But for that to happen brands need to adapt. In the digital world users care more about interacting more than just observing. In space without a physical platform the experience comes first. Fashion is still of course the base of the event, but online users are a different kind of audience, than the one brands got used to in the real-life shows. There’s certainly the potential in exploring the virtual world, but time will only tell if retailers decide to follow that path and add new, engaging content in their displays. Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are revolutionizing fashion as we know it. They are changing the way that brands, artists, influencers, and fashion designers interact with their customers. With NFTs, digital art work can now be exchanged for crypto currency in real time with full transparency between creators and buyers. And if you thought collecting streetwear couldn’t get any cooler than hunting down rare kicks on ebay or thrift stores, wait until you see what NFTs have to offer! WHERE DIGITALIZATION GOES, FASHION FOLLOWS Another big year of fashion NFTs is coming. Fashion brands are adjusting to a new world dictated by new technologies, open virtual spaces, community’s behaviors and demands. With over $245 million worth in the NFT sector, according to the blockchain analytics platform Dune, we could say that big numbers follow this phenomenon. In such dynamic times, where once NFTs were a luxury, they have now become mainstream. We can see this change from short-term to long-term in some of the most well-known brands already: Prada’s Timecapsule NFT collection includes a monthly drop of both limited physical pieces, as well as custom NFTs. It’s not a one-time thing anymore. Looking at yet another brand at the digital forefront - Gucci’s metaverse and digital wallet a.k.a. Gucci Vault - we have proof of how serious brands take digitalization. Expanding to the metaverse, Web3-based activities and gamified spaces are the perfect foundation for NFTs - which is not only about making money off tokens, but about belonging, loyalty and uniqueness. February’s Drop, Courtesy of Prada CAN BRANDS AND USERS REALLY GAIN ANYTHING FROM NTFS? They can create custom games, explore new landsot been hitting the first pages, and they may at first seem like an unlikely duo, with the rise of digital engagement, it's no wonder why brands are jumping on board. NFTs provide the perfect opportunity for fashion labels to reward loyal customers with exclusive digital experiences and goods, while also driving up demand for limited-edition products. But it's not just the brands that can benefit from these digital tokens. Users also have the power to buy, sell, or trade their digital assets on a secondary market at any time, making it an incredibly attractive option for fashion enthusiasts looking to diversify their digital portfolio. Fashion is more than just clothes, it's a culture in itself. And fashion NFTs provide more than just virtual items. They give customers a chance to engage with fashion culture in a whole new way. Providing a sense of exclusivity and linking customers to a brand in an unprecedented way - it cozies them up to a designer, providing a mutual loyalty, and a feeling of belonging. Who wouldn't want to be a part of a community that values fashion culture like this? MOST ICONIC NFTS IN DIGITAL FASHION In the world of NFTs, luxury brands are at the forefront with their latest collections that are engaging customers like never before. Tiffany’s Pendant, Courtesy of Tiffany & Co Tiffany’s CryptoPunks, LV x Yayoi Kusama Collection, and Burberry’s Blankos Block Party are all digital collectibles that are taking the fashion world by storm. But it’s not just fashion, Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot is allowing basketball fans to own digital collectibles of their favorite players, and Nike x RTFKT CryptoKicks limited-edition NFT shoes are a must-have for every streetwear enthusiast. Even Dolce & Gabbana is hopping on the NFT trend with their Collezione Genesi looks. And if you’re concerned about authenticity, Prada’s GoSee campaign uses NFTs to verify products. Dolce & Gabbana, Collezione Genesi, Courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR FASHION? DIVERSITY, METAVERSE, XR AND BEYOND! NFTs are becoming diversified and in that way, they push brands to diversify, too. Society’s approach to NFTs has been a bit rocky. That’s why brands have to face the challenge of addressing a lack of trust in virtual assets and coming up with creative solutions for utilizing NFT appeal. Ideas like token-gating and offline counterparts have emerged. They can also tap into fashion's exclusivity effect by using NFTs to unlock access to once-exclusive areas of the industry. But as we know, in the world of fashion, there is always room for innovation. The future of fashion is digital, diverse, and boundless. With NFTs and XR-related tech, fashion enthusiasts can now engage with their favorite brands in a whole new way. The metaverse is now a playground for fashionistas to showcase their style and creativity. Customers can try on digital outfits in Augmented Reality and mix and match various pieces without ever leaving their homes. The future of fashion is all about a world where everyone's unique identities are celebrated, and creativity is limitless. Combining community, loyalty and high value, NFTs are slowly creating a new dimension of fashion. Are you ready for it?
