WHAT'S NEW

E-Notification of MSC Opinions & Orders

The Supreme Court Clerk's Office is pleased to announce that it now has the
capability of providing e-notifications of the Court's opinions and orders to
the attorneys of record in a case. Like the e-notifications from the Court of
Appeals, the MSC e-notifications will identify the case number and name and will
include a link to the opinion or order. If you have any questions or concerns
about the MSC e-notification, please phone the Clerk's Office at (517) 373-0120.

Mandatory e-Filing for Attorneys

Effective February 1, 2020, attorneys are required to make all filings with the
Michigan Supreme Court and Michigan Court of Appeals electronically using the
MiFILE system unless excused by court order upon a motion for good cause.

02/01/2020
See Revised Administrative Order 2012-13
e-Briefs

Beginning on October 23, 2019, filers may submit electronic briefs with the
Michigan Supreme Court and Court of Appeals that are formatted to accommodate
viewing on electronic displays and that allow for a maximum word count instead
of a page limitation. NOTE: Although the Administrative Order that authorized
e-briefs expired in October 2021, e-briefs will continue to be accepted while
the Court considers incorporating the requirements into the court rules.
