Uber-Werks is a website highlighting the automotive works of Thomas P. Otten.
Mr. Otten is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas, as well
as an accomplished software developer. His love of Porsche cars started when he
was in his early teens, as his first "job" was changing oil in the family VW
shop. He is an avid enthusiast in the restoration, modification, and
preservation of Porsches, VW's and other automobiles which hail from the country
of his ancestral homeland (and a few which don't). We specialize in restoring
Porsches to their original condition, paying particular attention to detail. We
also assist buyers in Germany and the USA locating and purchasing vehicles. From
air cooled 911 engine rebuilds, to custom electronic fuel injection systems, to
part fabrication, we provide top quality engineering solutions to these cars of
joy. On the menu above, you will find links to restoration projects, including

One of our latest restorations, a beautifully restored, tastefully modified,
1973 Porsche 914 "S".

LUFTGEKÜHLT MOTOR REBUILD

We offer Porsche engine rebuilds for all air-cooled Porsche and VW Engines.
Restored for a customer in Germany, a beautiful 1979 Florida Blue VW Beetle
Cabriolet. Built in December of 1979, it is one of the very last Beetles
imported to the U.S. The exterior has received a new paint job and new
convertible top. The interior has recently been refitted with a new headliner,
carpet, door panels, and seat upholstery. Many new parts, including new chrome
moldings, emblems, and rubber seals. Complete with bluetooth ready stereo for

Under restoration is a beautiful Olympic Blue 1973 Porsche 914. This 2.0 Liter
914 is full of features, including the rare factory intermittent wipers. This
vehicle has a great history with complete records dating back to its purchase. A
world traveler this car is, having been purchased in Germany, then returning to
the U.S. with its owner.
