Dear Ravikumar,

Working parents in our region do everything they can to make ends meet.

They hold down jobs. They provide for their children. But unexpected setbacks
can throw them off course.

Especially when it comes to finances. More than two-thirds of parents say they
couldn’t cover a $400 expense.

A sudden job loss or medical emergency can lead to financial hardship. This can
cause a family to lose their home or go without basic necessities.

These parents are fighting to get ahead. They want to ensure a bright future for
their children. Yet, the progress they worked so hard to achieve can be wiped
out overnight.

United Way’s Project Lift was created to help families through a financial
crisis and then receive ongoing support to build and make progress on their
long-term goals.

Because of compassionate people like you, more than 250 families were supported
by United Way’s Project Lift in 2022. We need your help to reach 50 more
families in 2023.

Next week we will kick off our Make a Mother’s Day campaign. I’ll share more
details on how you can join us to make Mother’s Day special this year.

Sincerely,

Treva Brinkley
Senior Manager, Donor Experience
